Although the election outcome wasn’t what I had hoped for, it doesn’t change how we can continue to empower women, build strong diverse small businesses in communities, and support emerging CPG founders. Wednesday: I spoke on a women empowerment panel—and after Tuesday night, it felt more essential than ever to reaffirm our purpose and resilience. Thursday: Disha Gulati @ Here Here Market and Sugar Bliss co-hosted our first Corporate Gifting Market, featuring women, diverse, LGBTQ, and veteran founders. I also celebrated the Institute of Justice’s 25th anniversary with Beth Kregor, honoring their commitment on legal assistance to small businesses. Seventeen years ago, they helped Sugar Bliss secure our trademarks, a crucial foundation for our journey. Saturday: I joined Cecilia Cuff and Lotika Pai for City of Chicago’s Civics Day on a panel discussing community-building through entrepreneurship. Since Sugar Bliss’ start, the Loop has been our community hub, connecting the Chicago business community. Telling our stories, creating connections, and fostering our communities - this is what it means to be an entrepreneur.

I had an incredible week at the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) Conference in Atlanta! It was inspiring to hear Stacey Abrams speak—reminding us all to speak up, stay firm, and stay connected. A huge thank you to all the corporations that are steadfast in their commitment to Supplier Diversity and DEI. Being both MBE and WBE certified has opened so many doors for Sugar Bliss, and we are excited about the partnerships and opportunities that continue to grow from these initiatives. Special thanks to NMSDC for creating such an impactful platform for diverse businesses to thrive! I’m still coming off a “sugar high” that Sugar Bliss launched our desserts with the Chicago Bears. This week I had the opportunity to attend The Economic Club of Chicago event and hear, CEO & President of the Chicago Bears, Kevin Warren speak! He is so inspiring and spoke about the importance of diversity and culture under his leadership. I was so excited I had to make sure he got a Sugar Bliss Bear Claw cookie. 🍪 Thank you Chicago Bears and Levy Restaurants for giving us the opportunity and partnering with a woman and minority owned Chicago small business! Recently I was interviewed by Joseph Tarnowski with RangeMe on my experience from expanding from the retail store to retailers. Over 2 years ago, I came across RangeMe because I was on the Top Shelf program which was sponsored by Women's Business Development Center (WBDC) and Walgreens. I signed up for a RangeMe Premium and have submitted Sugar Bliss Cookies to over 15 immediate opportunity campaigns, such as the Compass Group's Retail Incubator Review and KeHE Distributors' TRENDfinder program and over 50 direct submissions to retailers and foodservice operators. Sugar Bliss launched in May with Compass Group for distribution to 500 locations nationwide and also available at KeHE Distributors around the country (Sugar Bliss was one of the Golden Ticket winners from KeHE’s TRENDfinder initiative last year). These opportunities were because we submitted on ECRM.
