Rickson Dsouza shares the one lesson that changed the trajectory of his career in the financial services sector. Fellow advisors, this one’s for you.
#25Years25Lessons Lesson 6 Warning: This lesson might be fuzzy from the after-effects of a Christmas feast. But here it is all the same: You cannot go it alone. Last week, I shared the story of an advisor who missed out on a potential 6-figure payday because she refused to collaborate. She wanted the whole pie for herself, per se, but didn’t entirely know how to go about baking it… (I warned you..*burp* *excuse me*) But here’s the thing: There will be many, many challenges and opportunities that you are just not equipped to handle on your own. Choosing to collaborate and learn from someone else, even if it means you have to share the rewards, will only serve you. The other option is letting the opportunity slide altogether. And then it’s not just the potential money on the table that you lose. It’s the lesson. The relationship. The trust you’ve worked hard to build. All of that goes flying out the window, too. So if you really want to go far, don’t try to go it alone. Lean into the possibility and potential that opens up when you join forces with others. #collaboration #lifelessons #careersinfinance #financialadvisors #itsnotbusinessitspersonal
