In 2025, we're still spreading the JOY! Our high school scholars from HSLA Brooklyn visited Queens Village elementary school recently for a read-aloud. After the event, upperclassmen shared stories of their own middle and high school experiences, giving the younger kids a glimpse into their exciting futures at Success. The best part of the day? Seeing our community in action!

On the final day of #12DaysofSAJoy, we’re making connections! We've created our very own version of the popular NYT game, and we’re inviting YOU to play along! Here’s how it works: 🔍 Step 1: Four sets of clues are hidden within a grid of 16 words or phrases. 🔍 Step 2: Your goal is to group the words into four categories—can you find all the connections? 🔍 Step 3: Use your problem-solving skills to make all the right matches! Think you’ve got the connections figured out? Drop your groupings (best guesses) in the comments below!

For day 11 of #12DaysofSAJoy, we’re celebrating 100%! At our schools, getting into college isn’t just a goal—it’s the standard. We prioritize preparing every scholar for success by providing the resources, guidance, and opportunities they need to thrive beyond graduation. This commitment is reflected in the fact that 100% of our Class of 2029 seniors have applied to colleges nationwide—demonstrating their hard work, determination, and the unwavering support they receive. But the celebration doesn’t stop there. Earlier this year, we proudly recognized the most recent graduating class, who achieved 100% college acceptance to at least one institution—a feat we've now celebrated for 7 years in a row! These achievements aren't just statistics; they are part of the culture we’ve built at our high schools. Here’s to continuing this legacy and ensuring every scholar has the tools they need to succeed!

Day 10 of #12DaysofSAJoy is dedicated to our top-tier athletics programming! We are still celebrating the athletics program rebrand that took place in the fall. We updated our appearance to reflect the increased opportunities and support our kids have—whether it’s through top-tier uniforms, growing access to new sports offerings, or the availability of comprehensive training and resources. Every scholar-athlete deserves the tools to compete at their highest level, and our athletics program ensures they have everything they need to succeed.

On day 7 of #12DaysofSAJoy, our scholars are taking center stage in multiple professional productions of ‘The Nutcracker!’ Wakana, of Midtown West, will be returning to the NYC Ballet to star in this year's production of The Nutcracker. We have not one, not two, but three scholars, from Bensonhurst and Flatbush elementary schools, featured in the Brooklyn production of the Nutcracker! This is a huge accomplishment for our dance program, and a testament to the hard work, dedication, and talent of our scholars and their teachers. It’s a great example of the incredible opportunities our scholars have access to through our scholar talent programs.

We’re proud to be collaborating with Bloch Dance USA, a brand that’s redefining inclusivity in dance with their flesh-toned dance shoes. Our arts programs offer a vital space for creativity, confidence, and community. Like our friends at Bloch, we’re committed to ensuring every child at Success has the opportunity to fully express themselves authentically in a safe, accessible, and welcoming environment. Happy 6th day of #12daysofsa12

Day 2 of #12DaysofSAJoy brings a Grammy nomination! Our very own Mark Edwards, SA Prospect Heights Music Teacher, was nominated for a Grammy! He contributed to Jonathan Newman's Bespoke Songs, which was nominated for ‘Best Classical Solo Vocal Album.' “I'm so glad to teach music in a way that prepares kids to be competitive in the music space if they choose to pursue it as a career, and how to actively appreciate it if they choose to interact with music as a recreation in the future.” - Mr. Edwards, when asked about why teaching music to children is so important to him. Join us in celebrating him for this nomination in the comments!
