Stowe Electric Department Receives $6 Million in USDA Funding for Clean Energy Projects! Stowe Electric is excited to announce that we’ve been awarded $6 million in funding from the USDA’s Powering Affordable Clean Energy (PACE) program! This funding will be used to enhance our electric grid and expand renewable energy sources for over 4,600 customers in Stowe. The $6 million award is part of the USDA’s $1 billion rural energy initiative, supported by the bipartisan Inflation Reduction Act. These upgrades will help improve energy reliability, reduce costs, and contribute to a more resilient energy future for our community. Last week, we had the opportunity to attend the annual Renewable Energy Vermont conference in Sout Burlington, Vermont, which provided us with an excellent opportunity to connect with leaders in the renewable energy sector. During the conference, we presented on hydropower in Vermont, highlighting its crucial role in our state’s energy landscape. Our presentation covered the benefits, challenges, and potential of this renewable resource. The event facilitated meaningful conversations and networking, allowing us to exchange ideas and explore collaborations with professionals who share our vision for a sustainable future.
