Ted Rogers, President of Security Title, responded to a recent op-ed in The Wall Street Journal about the need for title insurance reform. "The title industry has a proven record of helping Americans secure the dream of homeownership, and 90% of the industry is comprised of hardworking small businesses in communities across the country. These companies protect homeowners. There’s no reason to reform a system that isn’t broken." Thank you to The Wall Street Journal for publishing this and thank you to the American Land Title Association for your continued advocacy of title insurance. 📰 🔗 : https://lnkd.in/dBcWQDAS #titleinsurance #realestate #titleinsurancereform

We made it through the quiet storm of a slow real estate market in 2024, but are there more rough seas ahead in 2025? Or will we have smoother sailing with lower mortgage rates and increased housing inventory? Luckily, we have Diane Tomb (CEO of ALTA) and Ted Rogers (President of Security Title) to help set the ship straight before we shove off for 2025. In this webinar, we’re going to cover: 1. Mortgage Rates: Which way will they trend in 2025? 2. Federal Reserve Rate Cuts: How many more can we expect in 2025? 3. FinCen Reporting Rule: Is your operation preparing for the new reporting requirements? 4. The Title Waiver Program: Biden is transitioning out of office—where does that leave the Title Waiver Program? 5. ALTA's 2025 Priorities: How can the title industry stay ahead of the curve? Brent Scheer's back to help us make sense of what's happening with mortgage rates climbing since September's optimism. Inflation is real and investors have their eyes on it. Shelter cost is still high, inventory is still low and we need mortgage rates to (probably) get under 6% to see significant movement with existing homes. The next Federal Reserve meeting is set for December 11-12, so we'll see if we get another rate cut that may lead to another drop in mortgage rates. *Today's rates are slightly different than the rates were when we filmed this.

The holiday shopping season is ripe for cybercriminals, so use your best judgement as you would in the office to prevent cyber fraud. Especially since some of you might be using your work computer to do your shopping. Watch out for these scams: 1. Fake online stores and “unbelievable deals!” 2. Phishing e-mails and texts offering “unbelievable deals!” 3. Gift card scams 4. Order confirmation and failed delivery notification scams 5. Fake charity appeals Here's what you can specifically do: 1. Before you even click anything, hover over the link to see where it will take you. 2. Verify the website's URL by checking for spelling errors and a domain extension that isn't a typical .com or something similar. You can type this in your browser search bar instead of clicking a link. 3. Read the customer reviews. 4. Never download attachments from unknown sources. Take proper precaution this holiday season so your thoughtful gifts can reach your loved ones without issue.

🫸 🔍 ➡️ 🔎 Put the focus of your company's marketing in 2025 more on these 2 things: 1. The specific benefits for your customers(and prospective customers) of doing business with you instead of exclusively about what you do and know. 2. Feature your people more so they're best-positioned for warm introductions. A residual effect here is better internal camaraderie. Check out the full conversation to get ideas from the pro to make your 2025 marketing content better than 2024. Link in the comments 👇

We're glad to see bipartisan support of title insurance from the Congressional Real Estate Caucus by calling for a pause of the FHFA title waiver pilot. “[While] [w]e applaud your ongoing efforts to promote homeownership, especially for low-income Americans, and share your concerns about the difficulty and costs of purchasing a home [...] the Pilot will not achieve your stated goal of finding ways to “responsibly reduce closing costs for homeowners in a safe and sound manner.” The full article from American Land Title Association 👇 https://lnkd.in/gTjt3guQ
