Did you know that of the three eagle nests in Allegheny County, one of them is located right on United States Steel Corporation’s Mon Valley Works Irvin site?! 🦅 Last Friday, we had the pleasure of learning more about our nation’s bird and their history at the US Steel Mon Valley Irvin Works Plant Manager, Don German. Don has advocated for the eagles at his plant, Irwin, Claire, and the new resident, “V”, to countless venues and to over 10,000 students and others in the public. Leading with respect and guidance, Burrell exemplifies what it takes to be a successful, respected leader. Burrell started his career in the field as a carpenter for Local 171. As he gained experience in his career, his roles grew in responsibility, progressing from General Foreman to General Superintendent, Project Manager, and eventually General Manager for our Pittsburgh Division. Burrell uses his decades of experience not only to make the best decisions for the branch but also to educate his Project Managers and other office staff, creating a strong, professional team.
