There are so many reasons I feel lucky to have Maria L., on the Step Up: Equity Matters team. One I want to highlight today is her humor! Laughing is a daily occurrence at Step Up, and many times it starts with Maria's signature daily joke. Here’s an example: She sent us this "spread the cheer" message this morning. I hope it inspires not just us at Step Up but everyone across our network to spread laughter and cheer! While we’re at it, please join me in wishing her a very happy birthday!

Last night, we celebrated our 10th anniversary, marking a decade of growth, transformation, and impact. To commemorate this incredible journey, we had the privilege of working with the talented Rodrigo Carapia to create a piece of art that captures the essence of our story. The artwork visually represents everything we’ve experienced over the past ten years. It symbolizes the transformation we’ve undergone, the power of feminine leadership, and the love that has been the driving force behind everything we've accomplished. As an organization founded by women, we wanted the piece to reflect the strength, resilience, courage, and love that have shaped our path. Through the highs and the lows, we’ve always moved forward with love at our core and the courage to face challenges head-on. This love and courage have been the foundation upon which we’ve built our success and empowered us to transform ourselves and our communities. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey. Your dedication, strength, and commitment to stepping up have been integral to everything we’ve achieved together. The best is yet to come!

We are delighted to support the important, innovative, and life saving work The Foundation for Black Women's Wellness leads!
Founder, CEO & President, The Foundation for Black Women's Wellness and Founder/Host of Black Women's Wellness Day
I am excited this morning to announce The Foundation for Black Women's Wellness ' partnership with Quartz Health Solutions to provide Doula care services to expectant mothers and their families across Wisconsin through Quartz' new Healthy Beginnings, Healthy Futures Program. This partnership has been a year in the making, and will extend our provision of high quality Doula services to Quartz commercial insurance clients across Wisconsin--also opening a potential pathway to sustainable funding for Doula care in Wisconsin where we are working hard to address and eliminate racial birth disparities by building world class care models and solutions. We know that Doulas, as one solution among many, make a powerful difference in the birth experiences and outcomes of all mothers and babies, and our organization has been actively engaged for the last 6 years in expanding access to Doula care in Dane County, particularly for Black mothers and birthing people who bear the greatest burden of maternal and infant health disparities. This partnership with Quartz is yet another iteration of that work and we are excited to launch in the weeks ahead. Stay tuned for more!
