Winter is a quiet time in the orchards, as most of the work with apple trees happens in the spring, summer and fall ❄️ But it’s the perfect time to assist Mother Nature in providing a balanced crop for the year ahead by pruning! It’s tedious work, but necessary in ensuring a great crop of apples 🍎 We prune for many reasons; to maintain the health of the tree, let sunlight reach the fruit, balance the fruit load each tree bares and to make harvest easier and safer for field workers. Learn more about apple tree pruning from our Ranch Manager in Quincy, WA Bernardo Reyes!

Tis the season for giving! In a friendly competition to see who could donate the most, the first and second floors of the Stemilt office compiled a total of 827 hats, gloves, mittens and scarves to be given to Stemilters in need this winter. We couldn’t be prouder of these teams and the Christmas spirit they’ve shared to keep more people warm in the Wenatchee valley!
