On October 28th, 120 plus 7th graders from South Habersham Middle School toured SteelCell, HEMC, and Northeast Georgia Health System-Habersham Campus. The goal of the industry tours is to expose the students and school staff to the many options of high-demand careers located in Habersham County. The students learned about the skills and education needed to be successful within today’s labor market for 3 of Habersham’s major industry sectors: manufacturing, energy, and healthcare. The tours are a major component of Partnership Habersham’s workforce strategy: to connect our community’s future talent pipeline to the quality careers located in Habersham. The event would not have been successful without the support of Habersham County Schools and our industry partners, who graciously opened their doors and spent time with the students and staff. The tours are a fantastic example of how education, economic development, and industry can work together to expose students to good paying high-quality career options in their own community. #Habersham #Workforce #EconomicDevelopment
