We are very pleased to announce the promotion of Kelvin Austin to the position of Senior Director Retail Operations. His promotion will take effect on January 6, 2025, and he will report to Bertha Luna, Senior Vice President Retail Operations. In his new role, Kelvin will coach, advise and develop district managers to optimally lead and drive positive business results at the stores. He will share oversight duties of the company’s eight retail districts with current Senior Director Retail Operations Pat McManus. Kelvin and Pat will each be responsible for overseeing the operations of four districts with the specific districts to be determined at a later date. In addition, Kelvin and Pat will lead large-scale projects across all of Retail and be responsible for the coordination of major business initiatives that affect all districts. This structure will help maintain a consistent and cohesive message and strategy across all stores while retaining the ability to meet the individualized needs of specific stores and districts where needed. In 1999, Kelvin joined Stater Bros. during our acquisition of 43 Albertsons and Lucky Stores, starting as a Clerk at #150 Mission in Oceanside where he was promoted to Key Carrier in 2001. In 2002, he was promoted to District Trainer in the Training Center, and in 2004, he was promoted to Buyer/Merchandiser in the Marketing Department. In 2005, he returned to the stores as an Assistant Store Manager at #114 Blaine/Iowa in Riverside, and in 2008 he was promoted to Store Manager at #152 San Marcos. In 2017, Kelvin was selected as the store manager for the grand opening of Store #197 Menifee. In 2018, he was promoted to Retail Grocery Supervisor, and in 2021, he was promoted to his most recent position of District Manager. Kelvin holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from the University of Redlands. Additionally, he earned an Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts & Sciences from Palomar College. He is a graduate of the USC Food Industry Management and Executive Programs and has successfully completed the WAFC Retail Management Certificate Program. We are pleased to announce the promotion of Rashan Edgar to Senior Property Manager in the Property Management Department. She will report to David Mitchell, Director of Real Estate. During her 12 years as a Stater Bros. Market team member, Rashan has demonstrated a commitment to providing excellent service to our customers and teammates by ensuring that our store properties are clean, safe, and inviting. In her new role, she will be responsible for performing complex technical and professional tasks related to the management of Stater Bros. common areas and lead the Property Management Department and its personnel. Rashan has proven to be a strong leader through her clear communication and proactive approach to problem solving and we are confident she will continue to elevate the standards of the Property Management team. Rashan began her career at Stater Bros. Markets in 2012 as a Secretary in the Property Management Department. In 2014, she was promoted to Property Manager, which was her most recent role. Prior to joining our team, she worked for The Abbey Company, bringing with her over 15 years of property management experience. Rashan has earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of Phoenix. In her spare time, she enjoys being a mother to her two sons, serving in ministry at her church, attending concerts and traveling. We are very pleased to announce the promotion of Betsy Frazier to the position of Category Manager in the Sales and Merchandising Department. She has been a member of the Stater Bros. Markets team for 31 years and will report to Director Center Store & Promotional Planning, Tami Lammers. In this role, Betsy will be responsible for reviewing and evaluating both current and new grocery merchandise as well as coordinating product promotions. Betsy began her career at Stater Bros. in 1993 as a Courtesy Clerk at #113 N. Perris. In 2008, she transitioned to the Purchasing Department as a DSD Marketing Clerk. By 2009, had Betsy progressed in the Purchasing Department, taking on roles such as Inventory Analyst and Procurement Buyer. After serving as a Procurement Buyer-Produce, she was promoted in 2023 to her most recent position as Item and Sales Manager in the Sales & Merchandising Department.
