  • This month, we celebrate the five-year anniversary of State Farm independent contractor agent Gina Jeffries’ office in Morton, Illinois! Gina’s path to the State Farm agent opportunity jumpstarted by unfortunate events — a hit and run accident left her in a ditch on the side of the road, eight weeks after having her second child. “When I was at the hospital recovering from my injuries, I had one very vivid thought – I had no life insurance. I made a vow to myself I would go on to do something more impactful in my life, to help people and make a tangible difference. I always knew I wanted to be an entrepreneur, but I could never seem to find a meaningful fit." Gina’s ability to have an immediate impact on the lives of others is what drives her passion to lead and motivate her team. “I love seeing my team turn into accomplished professionals. The flexibility to spend time with my family, in addition to representing a company that shows resiliency, solidified my decision I made five years ago was the right one.” Wishing you continued success, Gina! Thank you for being a #GoodNeighbor in your community.

  • 33 years ago, Joe Raley responded to a newspaper advertisement that launched his career with State Farm. He held several positions, but it was his experience as an agency field consultant that transformed his career ambitions and sparked his interest in becoming an independent contractor agent. "I had the opportunity to work closely with State Farm agents, gaining insights into the agency side of the business. I witnessed their dedication to serving customers and the opportunity to be on the front lines — this was where I wanted and needed to be." Joe highlights his upbringing that continues to motivate him after 19 years as a State Farm agent. "Growing up in a family without insurance, my brothers and I found ourselves with almost nothing when our parents passed away at a young age. Now that I'm in a position to help protect families from similar experiences, I use this as motivation to ensure that my team and I are doing our part. "Our motto is, 'The customer should never have to ask.' We are committed to anticipating customer needs, wants, and concerns by addressing them proactively. We strive for excellence but recognize there is always room for improvement in how we can enhance our customer-first focus."
