Welcome to St. Mary's County Public Schools (SMCPS) where our four-year graduation rate is 93%. With over 17,500 students, our school system is large enough to offer a wide variety of academic programs and services, and small enough to maintain an atmosphere of friendliness, helpfulness, and personalized service. As a school system, we are focused on student achievement and assuring that our students meet rigorous standards; at SMCPS all children can and will learn. The Board appointed Ms. Anna Fiore as Supervisor of Instruction - Elementary Mathematics in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, effective January 6, 2025 Ms. Fiore holds a Bachelor’s Degree from McDaniel College and a Master’s Degree from Towson University. She currently serves as an Instructional Resource Teacher at Lexington Park Elementary School.

The Board appointed Mr. Ryan Hanley as Supervisor of Instruction for Physical Education, Secondary Health, and Athletics in the Dept of Curriculum & Instruction, effective Jan 6, 2025. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Salisbury Univ and a Master’s Degree from Notre Dame of Maryland University. He currently serves as an Activities Resource Teacher at Great Mills High School.
