Notre Dame under Marcus Freeman, the youngest head coach for the program since 1958: 🏈 9-4 🏈 10-3 🏈 13-1 (in progress) Now Freeman is two wins away from bringing the Fighting Irish their first national title this century. Notre Dame recently signed Freeman to a contract extension through 2030—after which he will still only be 43 years old—so he figures to stay in South Bend for a while. "He’s been incredible at the stewardship of the program and where this whole thing is driving,” said assistant Mike Denbrock following the head coach's new deal.

In his first season with the New York Knicks, Karl-Anthony Towns is changing the public perception of his career one powerful swoop to the hoop at a time. Some pundits openly mocked the trade that brought Towns to New York, believing he wasn't tough enough to handle the big market. Oops: He's averaging career-highs in rebounds, field goal percentage and 3-point shooting percentage, putting him on track for All-NBA honors. It's can't-miss basketball—yet some nearby Knicks fans are missing it because of a carriage dispute: https://lnkd.in/e7x35WXU

  • The PGA TOUR has officially unveiled its new media studios—a 65,000-square foot building in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. that will help the organization expand its digital footprint, launch new international feeds, and—maybe most importantly to the sport’s leaders—set golf up to leverage distribution possibilities once its current media deals expire after 2030. https://lnkd.in/eBiF-AJn

  • Brutus Buckeye and The Oregon Duck (the mascot formerly known as “Puddles”) won’t be entering the transfer portal anytime soon. Brutus is a proud 60th-year senior, while the Duck continues to act, well, sophomoric. On Wednesday, they’ll appear in their 13th and sixth Rose Bowls, respectively. Thanks to their steadfast continuity in a sea of change, two of college athletics’ most recognizable mascots now find themselves more valuable than ever: https://lnkd.in/eujyjhD7
