  • BREAKING: Sheel Kamal Seidler, the widow of late San Diego Padres owner Peter Seidler, is taking legal action to gain control of the MLB team. In a lawsuit filed Monday in Texas state probate court, Sheel Seidler claims that Bob and Matt Seidler, two of Peter’s brothers, breached their fiduciary duties as trustees of the Seidler Trust that controls the Padres. She claims that the two have, among other things, “irreconcilable conflicts of interest” and conspired to sell trust assets to themselves at “far-below-market prices,” as they “schemed to solidify their control of the Padres.” https://lnkd.in/e_qM44rd

Notre Dame under Marcus Freeman, the youngest head coach for the program since 1958: 🏈 9-4 🏈 10-3 🏈 13-1 (in progress) Now Freeman is two wins away from bringing the Fighting Irish their first national title this century. Notre Dame recently signed Freeman to a contract extension through 2030—after which he will still only be 43 years old—so he figures to stay in South Bend for a while. "He’s been incredible at the stewardship of the program and where this whole thing is driving,” said assistant Mike Denbrock following the head coach's new deal.

In his first season with the New York Knicks, Karl-Anthony Towns is changing the public perception of his career one powerful swoop to the hoop at a time. Some pundits openly mocked the trade that brought Towns to New York, believing he wasn't tough enough to handle the big market. Oops: He's averaging career-highs in rebounds, field goal percentage and 3-point shooting percentage, putting him on track for All-NBA honors. It's can't-miss basketball—yet some nearby Knicks fans are missing it because of a carriage dispute: https://lnkd.in/e7x35WXU
