  • With the 49th Spoleto Festival USA on the horizon, we take a look back at the enchantment 2024 brought to Charleston, South Carolina.    Over 17 days, 13 venues, and more than 100 performances, Charleston opened its arms to 389 artists from across the globe to explore themes of immigration, democracy, and human rights while emphasizing joy and empathy. From nurturing emerging talents through our resident Orchestra and Choral programs to honoring world-renowned performers such as Yo-Yo Ma and Sasha Velour, Spoleto continued to serve as a hub for artistic advancement and innovation. With six world and national premieres spanning 21 artistic disciplines, the Festival stayed true to its mission of presenting boundary-pushing works that captivate audiences and spark conversation.    Merriment and storytelling abounded at the Festival. From intimate Chamber Music at the Dock Street Theatre to magical nights at the College of Charleston Cistern Yard, thousands of patrons from 48 states and 13 countries filled our venues. Continuing our commitment to our community and development, our theaters welcomed donors and friends of the Festival, as well as attendees from various outreach programs, including the Open Stage Door program, Pay What You Will ticket offers, and Tell Your Story - a unique program that celebrates local voices through exploratory music and oral memoirs in partnership with the Spoleto Festival USA Orchestra. While reaching new audiences, Spoleto continued to foster existing relationships within our donor community including over 1,000 individuals and 30 institutional funders, including long-standing supporters Bank of America, Blue Cross Blue Shield of South Carolina, and Wells Fargo. Together, they helped raise more than $5.5 million in contributed support for Spoleto in 2024.    As we reflect on another remarkable year, we extend our heartfelt thanks for your support, attendance, and celebration of the arts in Charleston, South Carolina. We invite you to reflect on the impact of 2024 and look forward with excitement to 2025!    Read more about our 2024 Season in Review here » https://lnkd.in/edm5BSjV
