Current Projects: With a growing shortage in the US of qualified endocrine specialty doctors in the setting of a rising epidemic of diabetes and obesity, already vulnerable communities face even greater obstacles to accessing health care. Additionally, rural and urban underserved Hospitals are facing difficulties in keeping their doors open, making it imperative to take on innovative ways to provide the much needed care. It is within this context that Specialty Telemedicine Physicians, PLLC has partnered with one of America's top 20 rural county hospitals located in a health professional shortage area. We have launched a new Telemedicine Endocrine Specialty Service that will provide convenient, state of the art, high quality, continuity care via remote telecommunications while keeping the patients within their existing hospital system. Future Projects: We are actively expanding our services to include other chronic disease management specialties such as Gastroenterology (chronic HBV, IBD, IBS), Pulmonology (COPD, asthma, bronchitis), Nephrology (chronic kidney disease, stable kidney replacement therapy), and Infectious Disease. About the Company: Our company President and Founder, Chevon Rariy, MD is a Harvard trained, board certified Internal Medicine and Endocrinology physician, researcher, educator, and healthcare advocate with over 10 years medical experience. Dr. Rariy has authored many publications including an interactive endocrinology teaching module for the New England Journal of Medicine. She serves on the council of the Harvard Club (part of the alumni association) and is a member of the American Telemedicine Association and The Endocrine Society.
