SolarEdge Technologies has begun shipping its new SolarEdge Home Battery “USA Edition,” completing its lineup of domestically manufactured solar and storage products. These products are designed to meet the domestic content bonus credit requirements outlined by the U.S. Department of Treasury and the IRS. The announcement follows SolarEdge's previously established manufacturing partnerships in Austin, Texas, and Seminole, Florida. The SolarEdge Home Battery USA Edition complements the company’s U.S.-made inverters and power optimizers, enabling TPOs, PPAs, lease providers, and commercial system owners to maximize domestic content incentives for their solar + storage systems. With a storage capacity of 9.7 kWh, the battery is powered by SolarEdge ONE, the company’s advanced energy optimization system, which enhances energy savings by optimizing solar export during peak rate periods. https://lnkd.in/eunddPs9 #EnergyStorage #RenewableEnergy #SolarEdge #CleanEnergy #EnergyOptimization #SustainableSolutions #SolarBattery

The American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC), the nation’s largest organization of state legislators committed to free markets and federalism, unanimously approved “The Resolution in Support of Farming and Energy Production” last week at the States & Nation Policy Summit in Washington, D.C. Sponsored by Colorado Republican Weld County Commissioner Lori Saine, the resolution advocates for allowing community solar and agrivoltaic projects on farmland. This initiative aims to expand consumer energy choices, support family farms, and boost domestic energy production through community solar. “American farmers and ranchers should have the freedom to decide how they generate energy on their land,” said Commissioner Lori Saine. “Small-scale community solar and agrivoltaic projects hold significant potential for our nation’s energy future, offering farmers new opportunities while preserving agricultural productivity. In Colorado, we’ve seen how these projects help sustain our farming communities, and I encourage conservatives in other states to adopt similar measures.” https://lnkd.in/envQwe7x #CommunitySolar #Agrivoltaics #EnergyIndependence #SustainableAgriculture #FamilyFarms #RenewableEnergy

PV Hardware USA (PVH) has introduced Diffuse Control, an advanced solar tracker algorithm designed to boost solar plant energy generation during overcast conditions by up to 20% compared to traditional trackers. Unlike conventional sun-tracking methods that rely solely on solar geometry, Diffuse Control uses real-time weather data to optimize panel tilt for capturing diffuse light. The algorithm also reduces motor energy consumption during operation, enhancing overall efficiency and productivity in cloudy weather. https://lnkd.in/g7dW5imp #SolarTechnology #SolarTrackers #RenewableEnergy #SolarEfficiency #EnergyOptimization #SmartSolar #SolarAlgorithm

The U.S. solar industry achieved a record Q3 in 2024, installing 8.6 GW of new electricity generation capacity—a 21% year-over-year increase, according to the SEIA and Wood Mackenzie. Utility-scale projects led growth with 6.6 GW installed, while commercial and community solar markets grew 44% and 12%, respectively. Texas dominated solar deployment, contributing 2.4 GW in Q3 and accounting for 26% of 2024's total new capacity. Florida followed, with nearly 30,000 households adopting solar this year. Over the past two years, 1.4 million households nationwide have utilized federal incentives for solar installations. Despite strong demand, growth forecasts face challenges such as interconnection, labor, and supply constraints, but the industry is expected to grow 2% annually, reaching 450 GW by 2029. https://lnkd.in/eK2FZmQd #SolarEnergy #Sustainability #USASolar #EnergyTransition #RenewableFuture #EnergyInnovation #ClimateAction #SolarGrowth

MaineEnergyUpdate: The Governor’s Energy Office will not contract for a DSO design but seeks public comments to guide Grid Planning, Infrastructure, and Energy Management efforts. The office reviewed an initial study on a Distribution System Operator, evaluating potential benefits like lower Electricity Costs, improved System Reliability, progress on Climate Goals, and growth of Distributed Energy Resources. Maine targets 80% Renewable Energy by 2030 and significant GHG Reductions. The legislature tasked the office with assessing feasibility and deciding on next steps, ensuring any DSO design excludes owning Utility Assets. https://lnkd.in/dpgzSf4d #MaineEnergyUpdates #UtilityAssets #GHGReductions #CleanEnergy #Sustainability

Six counties and 72 townships in Michigan are suing the state, claiming the Public Service Commission (PSC) overstepped its authority by taking control of zoning for large-scale solar and wind projects. Filed on November 8, the lawsuit alleges regulatory overreach and procedural violations, seeking to nullify the PSC’s order and bar its enforcement. The lawsuit arises amid Michigan’s recent clean energy advancements, including the Homeowners’ Energy Policy Act, passed in July 2024, which allows condo residents to install solar systems without HOA interference. These measures align with the state’s 100% Clean Energy Mandate and its goal of carbon neutrality by 2050. https://lnkd.in/ekVXTnJy #WindEnergy #RenewableEnergy #ZoningLaws #RegulatoryOverreach #CarbonNeutrality #ClimateGoals #EnergyPolicy

A ribbon-cutting ceremony recently marked the completion of the Clemons Road community solar project in the Village of Minoa, New York. Developed and funded by Renewable Properties, a company specializing in small-scale utility and community solar projects, the initiative was carried out in collaboration with the Village and Ampion, the project's subscriber manager. Nearly 100 Minoa residents signed up for the program, representing 20% of the community solar project’s total subscribers. The residents’ share of the solar array is expected to generate 878,702 kWh of energy annually, providing them with savings on their utility bills. Community solar offers a solution for individuals who either don’t own their homes or lack the ideal roof space for solar panels. It also enables ratepayers who might not afford the upfront costs of solar to benefit from clean energy while reducing their electricity expenses. Ampion manages the subscriptions, allowing participants to receive energy credits on their utility bills based on their share of the Clemons Road solar farm’s energy output. https://lnkd.in/dPUcbKRC #CommunitySolar #RenewableEnergy #SolarPower #CleanEnergy #MinoaNY #SolarSavings #EnergyAccess #SolarForAll #GreenEnergy
