About us

Snelling Georgia is the result of a merger between Happy Faces (founded in 1995 by Lenard Hairston and his son Michael) and Snelling (a national brand founded in 1951 by Lou and Gwen Snelling and now led by CEO and President Rick Hermanns) that allows us to enrich our ability to support our Georgia communities and emphasize what we do best: build meaningful relationships and partnerships while offering a customized Best-in-Class client experience. We are ready to bring our innovative staffing and consulting experience to bear in support of the needs of job seekers and employers! Post- merger, our branding and collateral reads Snelling Georgia. Our official documents refer to the new entity created as a result of the merger—New World Employment, DBA Snelling. For all intents and purposes, we are Snelling Georgia.

“Shifting to skills-based hiring—even if only for a fraction of jobs in the city’s economy—can help open up tens of thousands of well-paying jobs to New Yorkers who would otherwise be excluded for lack of a specific credential. Indeed, just 25 percent of Hispanic New Yorkers, 30 percent of Black New Yorkers, and 49 percent of Asian New Yorkers hold a bachelor’s degree or higher, compared to 68 percent of white New Yorkers. “ This article (link in comments) focuses on creating an equitable economy in New York, but its central points apply just as well to Atlanta (and markets across the country). We are seeing some big private sector employers as well as “a growing number of public sector employers [removing] degree requirements for relevant jobs. In the past few years, the governors of Maryland, Pennsylvania, Utah, and Alaska have taken bold steps to eliminate the four-year college degree requirement for thousands of state jobs, making those positions accessible to residents who have relevant experience or training, but not a college degree.” I’d love to see this happen at scale with state jobs here. Skills-based hiring is a win-win. Employers benefit from access to a diverse and under-tapped talent pool. I believe staffing agencies can serve as important intermediaries in this trend. While it can sometimes go unnoticed, I am proud of the bridgework we do here at Snelling Georgia to ensure we present richly diverse talent pools to our customers. This includes “soft” skills and interview coaching and the identification, translation and promotion of transferrable skills. We advocate for skills-based hiring practices for economic opportunity AND for business success! #skillsfirst #snellinggeorgia #staffingindustry #werehiring

  • Snelling Georgia prides itself on creative thinking and solutions orientation. To achieve the Triple Win we have to find employees that are going to thrive AND bring value to your company! That’s why we review each resume AND take the time to get to know the person behind it,  holding prescreening interviews to get a sense of character, motivation and transferable skills that may not be immediately obvious on resumes.   This article from betterup (Link in comments) is a good primer on transferable skills: They “are the ones you carry with you.” Everyone has them. We pick them up from degree and certification work for sure, but also from other jobs, mentorships, volunteering, and plain old life experience.   It takes time to focus on the person but why would we settle for butts in chairs when we can build bridges and partnerships?! #triplewin #hiring #atlantastaffing #atlantajobs #snellinggeorgia #jobopportunities

  • Our service orientation insists we work to maximize the Customer Solution and Employee Success in everything we do! As the central liaison between our customers and employees, Cynthia brings cheerful authenticity and a heart the size of Georgia to her work each day. If you’ve worked with Cynthia, then you already know she’s got a story and a laugh to brighten your day and works hard behind the scenes to make sure our placements are seamless, successful, and solutions-oriented.   Thanks for all you do, Cynthia—and for being committed to the Triple-Win! #triplewinwednesdays #snellinggeorgia #staffingstars #wearehiring #hiring #atlantastaffing #customersuccess #employeesuccess #winningatwork

  • According to confidence expert Jessica Chen, it’s easier for those with so-called “loud-culture traits” (prioritizing networking and socializing, being the first to speak at meetings etc) to celebrate and share their wins at work than it is for “quiet-culture” employees (those of us taught to be modest, humble, and keep working with head down).   We know it’s essential to “get things done and confidently talk about our impact because when we do, we highlight our genius.” However, wherever we fall on the volume-culture spectrum, it may feel especially tricky for outsourced employees to celebrate wins at work.   At Snelling Georgia, we are your advocate and your biggest fan. Have a win at work? Big or small, let us know! We want to document your achievements on your success journey, celebrate with you and share it forward!   Read Chen’s article "How to Celebrate Wins at Work" full of helpful reframes and communication strategies in the link below. #snellinggeorgia #triplewinwednesdays #staffingindustry #hiring #atlantajobs #winning

  • Snelling Georgia was founded in 1995 as Happy Faces Personnel. Happy Faces always referenced “the triple-win”—Happy employees, Happy customers, Happy Faces! It’s a catchy slogan but underneath the alliteration was the belief that our interests and ability to thrive are always interconnected. The name has changed but the belief is the same! At Snelling Georgia we aim to do that bridge work: finding great employees and top talent for our customers and well-matched opportunities for our candidates. Mutual thriving is our goal!   But what does it really mean to “win at work?” What does it look like? How do we work towards it? And how do we celebrate the wins—big and small--when they happen?   Starting next week, “Triple-Win Wednesdays” are where we dig a little deeper and explore these questions and more. Stay tuned--and maybe share a recent win you've had below! #snellinggeorgia #triplewinwednesdays #winatwork #smallwinsbiggains #atlantastaffing

  • Coming up on 2 years as Snelling Georgia and nearly 30 before that as Happy Faces Personnel--the goal has been the same: do whatever we can to help our customers succeed and our employees thrive. Love to see these "T2P" placements!

We do not believe in the word "temp." There is nothing temporary about our employees and there is nothing temporary about the relationship we forge together. But we have to celebrate when a long-term employee moves from "Temp-to-Perm." Your success is our goal! Congratulations D. on your new permanent role!
