We've recently been alerted to a scam operation misusing the smlXL name and logo. We're sharing this information to help you stay vigilant and protect yourself from similar fraudulent schemes. Scam Overview: - Fraudsters are impersonating smlXL, falsely claiming it specializes in "Mobile app optimization" - They're offering fake remote gig work opportunities - Tasks are supposedly paid using Venmo, Paypal or banktransfer - Eventually, victims are asked to deposit money with promises of higher returns - Scammers often use domains that swap the first 'l' in smlXL with an 'i' - The scam sites are typically hosted in Malaysia or Hong Kong How to Identify Legitimate smlXL comms: - We ONLY use the domain smlXL.io for all official communication - smlXL does not offer data entry gig work - We will NEVER request money transfers, especially via cryptocurrency, as a condition for employment Protecting Yourself from Similar Scams: - Be wary of unsolicited job offers, especially those promising high pay for simple tasks - Research companies thoroughly before engaging - Be extremely cautious of any "job" requiring you to send money - Verify email domains and contact information with official company websites Remember: If an offer seems too good to be true, it probably is. Report Suspicious Activity: - If you encounter this scam or similar fraudulent activities, please report them to the appropriate authorities. In the US: https://lnkd.in/dMiV83F and https://lnkd.in/eAkPiuac - Inform the company being impersonated We are actively reporting the domains involved with these scams as we become aware of them. Stay vigilant and remember: Always verify before you trust. The internet is a wonderful place, but it has its dark corners. Attached is a screenshot of one of the scammers sites
With sim, all canvases are public by default. If you see a canvas with an API you want to try, you can test it with the generate cURL feature! Here are the endpoints we use for the sim Explorer homepage: https://lnkd.in/e6yyQ9Tr. The API you want to use belongs to another org? It'll use your org's API key. Even if you're not signed in, we'll give you a public API key for you to test out APIs and explore. Your usage of someone else's API will never count against them. Come build on sim.io.
