This year, Small Sums outfitted over 1,260 unhoused workers with everything they needed to start a job, keep it, and thrive. Our small but mighty team connected with every single worker to ensure their needs were met, and felt confident about stepping into a new chapter in their life. Our board provided guidance and ensured we stayed on track with our mission. We also had fantastic partner organizations who worked with us to reach even more workers this year. More importantly, we had YOU, our community, donors, and volunteers who supported us all year. We could not have done this without you and your unwavering support, so as we wrap up this year, we want to say THANK YOU to all of you who partnered with our mission to remove barriers for unhoused individuals to start their employment successfully! Let's do it again in 2025!💪 #yearinreview #thankyou #CommunityImpact #support

Meet Andaya: She has recently joined Summit Academy OIC, where she’s diligently working toward becoming an electrician. Once she completes her studies, Andaya is eager to secure a union job or start an apprenticeship. When asked about what keeps her motivated, Andaya shared, “My baby, school, and trying to make a better life for my family.” While staying with family can present some challenges, Andaya’s determination to create a better life for herself and her loved ones shines through. At Small Sums, we were thrilled to provide everything Andaya needed to confidently start her program—pants, shirts, socks, Red Wing Shoes, a care pack filled with essential hygiene items, and a 31-day bus pass to help her commute to and from school. Andaya’s inspiring words, “Your comfort should never cause someone else their humanity,” remind us of the impact we can all have and our role in upholding human dignity. Congratulations to you, Andaya, on this new chapter in your life! 💛 Help us support more workers like Andaya as they take the next step toward stability and success. Your donation makes a difference! Meet Josh: A lifelong Minnesotan, Josh recently moved to the Twin Cities and loves city life. He’s gearing up to start a new job as a mechanic—work he excels at and enjoys. Off the clock, Josh is passionate about playing softball and can’t wait for summer to hit the field! Currently staying at a recovery residence, Josh is driven by his kids, his sobriety, and his own determination to thrive. He shares, “Asking for help and talking with others gives me anxiety, but I know I need to do it. Everyone I’ve opened up to has been so helpful and nice, which makes it easier.” Josh’s goal for the year? Finding a place to call his own. At Small Sums, we were thrilled to provide everything Josh needed to start his new job with confidence—non-slip shoes, shirts, socks, underwear, and a 31-day bus pass to get him to and from work. Congratulations on your sobriety and a new chapter, Josh! 💛 Help us support more workers like Josh as they take the next step toward stability and success. Your donation makes a difference! Leika Pierre-Louis and Connie Lewis represented Small Sums at the KARE 11 Community Grant Award Ceremony yesterday, where we stood alongside 9 other incredible organizations making a difference in our community. It was an honor to be recognized for our work outfitting workers experiencing homelessness and supporting their journey toward stability. A special highlight of the day? Meeting anchors Alexis Rogers and Jason Hackett! Leika even had the opportunity to be interviewed for a future Kare 11 story. We can’t wait to share more about this experience and the impact of this $5,000 grant when the story airs. Stay tuned, and thank you for supporting our mission!
