The underlying problem as to what this cause is all about is the significant increasing rate of absenteeism and presenteeism (working while sick) of small business employees because of their poor mental health. This costs employers $16.6 Billion per year with an overall economic burden especially to small business owners who cannot afford to provide mental health support to their employees. In addition, due to the recent COVID-19 pandemic, 1 in 7 small businesses are at risk of shutting down causing owners and employees to be stressed and anxious. Hence, this cause provides free counselling to small business owners and employees to tackle work-related issues that might affect their mental well-being. Also, it aims to help small businesses to implement effective mental health support strategies in their workplace without any cost to the owners.
