About us

Sister League of San Diego (SLSD) is a nonprofit organization providing transitional and permanent supportive housing for adult women. Our staff manage two 15-bed residences in the Hillcrest area and provide day programming for our residents. SLSD's services are designed to assist women affected by mental health issues, homelessness, trauma, and domestic abuse. As such, SLSD requires residents be under the care of a psychiatrist to meet additional mental health needs. Referrals tend to come from psychiatric hospitals, crisis homes, and social service agencies.

A weekend full of celebrating the community we have built both internally and externally at Sister League of San Diego ! Saturday: I got to attend Nicole Slay, our Resident Support Liaison’s graduation ceremony. She has been working at Sister League for 18 months while also getting her degree and being a full time mom! 💪🏼 Having worked alongside her it is so easy to see why she was selected as keynote speaker for her grad class, and it was an honor to be able to be there to support. Sunday: We opened our home to our community for our annual Open House, for anyone interested in learning about SLSD! We hosted families and friends as they took a tour of our Redwood home, saw the ins and outs of day to day life, and learned about the history of our organization. Moments like this remind me not everyone gets to say they attended their coworker’s graduation, or that they give actual, real life facility tours of the place their residents call home. Feeling all the gratitude after reflecting on this weekend, and feeling all the more proud of the community and culture we have built!
