Today we had 24 volunteers from Ohio's Air National Guard 125th Intelligence Squadron (178th Wing) spend their morning with us to help around our warehouse. With their enthusiasm and hard work, our space is prepped and ready to help us better serve our community! They rolled up their sleeves and helped us get ready for the holidays by: 🎨 Repainting white lines around the edge of the warehouse 🖌️ Repainting the wall in the packing room 📦 Packing over 100 CSFP boxes 🧹 Cleaning out our storage garage 🧽 Clearing the nearby office building 🛒 And assisting with packing carts for today's alley distribution We are beyond grateful for their support and can’t thank them enough for spending their morning with us. Team work really does make the dream work! 💪

This morning, we had the esteemed honor of presenting Patrick Field, SHFB Board President, with the Patrick Field Volunteer of the Year Award! 🏆🌟 This award was created to recognize a dedicated volunteer who demonstrates leadership, stewardship, and a strong commitment to volunteerism within our community. Patrick's impressive resume is already filled with awards, accolades, and accomplishments for his philanthropic efforts throughout Clark County—and it looks like he'll need to make space for one more. There is simply no better choice for the first recipient than the award’s namesake. Patrick will be retiring from our Board at the end of the month, but his commitment and dedication to Second Harvest and our mission will continue beyond his tenure. Looking back on Patrick's time with Second Harvest, one of his most impactful contributions was serving as a key member of the Board during the organization's transition from Catholic Charities to an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Patrick was an integral part of this success! After six years of service, his impact has left a lasting mark, and we look forward to honoring his legacy by annually recognizing an outstanding community volunteer!
