"...The future belongs to those who connect the dots..." We've been thinking a lot about this Adam Grant quote recently. We live in a time where knowledge, for knowledge's sake, isn't rewarded. But those who can break down complex topics and piece together seemingly disparate facts certainly will be. Therefore, connecting the dots is a valuable skill. At Seeds, we pride ourselves on our ability to connect the dots across the client lifecycle, bringing clarity and seamless integration to advisors' workflows. We want to help advisors connect the dots for clients by explaining how their assessment results inform their portfolio recommendations and how that ties into their financial plans and see how it gets them to their financial goals. Financial advisors: the future belongs to those who connect the dots.

Founder & CEO of Seeds | Helping advisors deliver a more meaningful investing experience at scale

More than 70% of consumers not only expect companies to deliver personalized interactions but actually get frustrated when it doesn't happen, according to McKinsey. So why not do that when it comes to your investment management process with clients? People don't just want a personalized portfolio. They want to feel like the overall experience you're delivering around investing is truly shaped around them. That requires understanding investors in a deeper way, connecting that understanding to clear solutions, and explaining that problem->solution connection in a compelling (and personalized) way. You can't fight commoditization by anchoring your value on what's already commoditized. Your access to products, your credentials, your years of experience--that's all table stakes. You have to have it. But perceived value comes from making it about them, not you. Had a blast chatting (and debating a bit) on the topic of investment commoditization with Chip Kispert, John Hill, CFA, and Dan Burke, CFA at the MarketCounsel Consulting Summit. Thanks to Anthony M. Stich, Brian Hamburger, and the team for having us!

  • Will you be at #MarketCounsel tomorrow? Zachary Conway will be! And he's taking the stage with Chip Kispert of Beacon Strategies, LLC, John Hill, CFA of Quorus, and Dan Burke, CFA of Callan Family Office at 2:30 pm PT to talk about personalized asset management and combatting commoditization of investment management in the industry. This panel is a can't-miss for any advisor interested in providing a better client experience while alleviating the burden of portfolio management. Give us a 👍if you're attending!

  • Different client personalities don't come with instructions. Or, do they? 🤨 At Seeds, we believe investors can be categorized by 9 persona types. Some personas want to be in the nitty-gritty details with you. Others trust you've got this. Some want regular portfolio performance updates. Others just want confirmation they are okay. Many live in the in-between. So, to help you better engage with your different client personalities, we put together a list of "Dos" and "Don'ts" for engaging with each! So many TAMPs today market their customizability as a benefit. But is it really? To their credit, TAMPs today recognize that advisors have unique needs and have rushed to acquire solutions that fill necessary gaps. While well-intended, this never-ending-slew of feature-adding means advisors are on their own to decipher what they really need and how to connect it in a way that makes sense to them. In many ways, optionality and modularity fuel confusion. Does this contribute to the argument that TAMPs aren't actually turnkey? Read our take in the blog linked below, and let us know what you think! https://lnkd.in/gGDjBRTy

Spender. Saver. Investor. Protector. Everyone has a different financial bias grounded in their life experiences. Advisors know how to apply this to clients' individual financial plans. But do you know how they think about investing, specifically? At Seeds, we created 9 investment mindset personas that all advisors should know if they want to gain a deeper understanding of their clients' motivations, perspectives, and approaches to investing. Segmenting investors according to mindset not only expedites advisors' ability to connect with clients and earn their trust, it facilitates important portfolio construction conversations. Want to know the 9 investment mindsets and best practices for engaging with clients? Click the link in the comments to get the guide ⬇️

Does your TAMP serve the full client lifecycle? Not just the investment management process. The full lifecycle, from prospecting to onboarding, to building proposals, to implementing the proposal, to driving ongoing engagement, and everything in between? Probably not. So then why do we call TAMPs "turnkey?" Read our view on this debate at the link in the comments. And tell us what you think about it below.
