Did you miss SFNet's Supply Chain Finance Conference on Dec. 3? Matt Colyar, Economist, Moody's, dimensioned the size and growth of the supply chain market for us. Matt offers some takeaways from his session: 1. It’s a fast-changing, highly uncertain world for businesses. 2. Trade policy is crucially important and is becoming increasingly protectionist. The uncertainty this creates will cause businesses to pull back on their supply chain and other investments, adding to costs, impairing productivity, and further exacerbating inflationary pressures in the longer run. 3. Suppler relationships have been re-evaluated over the past few years. 4. Just-in-time inventory management has been efficient and cost-effective, but its proven relatively brittle.
