Last week, I had the chance to participate in the 15th International Marine Design Conference (IMDC 2024) in Amsterdam and present a paper on the "Optimization of Ship Design for the Effect of Wind Propulsion." The study was conducted at the Ship Design Laboratory (SDL) of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) and is part of the Orcelle Project, which aims to develop and demonstrate solutions involving wind as the main form of propulsion. I am thankful for the connections and fruitful discussions with academic and industry experts. Congratulations to the Department of Maritime and Transport Technology at Delft University of Technology for organizing such an interesting and well-coordinated event. Happy to share that I recently presented my book, "Ship Performance Assessment based on Observed Fouling" at Vessel Performance Info Forum in Athens! 🚢 "Ship Performance Assessment based on Observed Fouling" is a method that translates an underwater observation of a hull to a rough estimation of added power and fuel consumption due to fouling. I am grateful for the invaluable feedback and connections made with experts across different fields focusing on vessel performance monitoring. Huge thanks to VesselPerformanceInfo for hosting such an engaging and well-coordinated conference! 🙌 Find out more about the book and our products/services and download a free demo at sealionengineering.com #VesselPerformance #VPiForum

🚢📘 New Release Alert! 📘🚢 I am thrilled to share the launch of my book, "Ship Performance Assessment based on Observed Fouling" – a step-by-step guide for estimating the effect of hull fouling in ship performance with nothing but just a few underwater photos. In this book, I've distilled years of studies/research and practical experience to contribute with a meaningful solution to one of the industry's pressing challenges which is decarbonization. I developed a method that translates an underwater observation of a hull to a rough estimation of additional power and fuel consumption, providing engineers, naval architects, and maritime professionals with a valuable additional tool for vessel performance monitoring. Key Features: ✔ Clear understanding of the different types of fouling. ✔ Quick methodology to assess observed hull fouling in terms of added power and fuel consumption ✔ Complete library of “Fouling Diagrams” for all the major ship types/sizes (480 diagrams included in the book) ✔ Clear step-by-step instructions on how to handle complex cases ✔ Case study to familiarize with the application of the methodology. 💡 BONUS Free Demo available at sealionengineering.com Dive into your copy today and join the movement towards more efficient, sustainable maritime operations with Sealion Engineering! 🌊📖
