The City of La Mesa adopted its 2024 Climate Action Plan Update, a roadmap for reducing community-wide greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) in La Mesa. The 2024 CAP Update introduces six comprehensive strategies, an expansion from the five outlined in the original 2018 CAP. Each strategy is supported by 21 measures, 30 main actions, and 123 implementation and supporting actions. This includes programs, projects, policies, education, outreach, and more. Together, they create a robust framework to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote sustainability in La Mesa.

Partnering with academia, non-profit organizations, and business and community leaders, the Climate Collaborative raises the profile of regional leadership, shares expertise, and leverages resources. Our mission is to connect the region to advance climate change solutions. The City of San Diego 's Coastal Resilience Master Plan public comment is now open! The Plan is an implementation action of Climate Resilient SD. This project is made possible through grants from the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation and California State Coastal Conservancy. The Draft Coastal Resilience Master Plan is now available for public review through Jan. 5, 2025. To provide feedback on the draft plan, please complete the feedback form for one or all project sites.

In early 2022, the City of Carlsbad sought public input on environmental sustainability needs and priorities to help shape the Climate Action Plan Update. This feedback was used to develop a list of proposed actions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, which was then shared with the public for additional feedback in fall 2023. On Nov. 12, 2024, the Carlsbad City Council adopted a comprehensive update to the city's Climate Action Plan. Read more:

ACEEE has released a brief on opportunities for coordination between states and utilities to implement federal residential energy programs included in the Inflation Reduction Act. Utilities are well-suited to collaborate on the design and implementation of the Home Efficiency Rebate (HOMES) and Home Electrification and Appliance Rebate (HEAR) programs.
