#memberspotlight 😍 The South Carolina Public Health Association Environmental Health Section participated in the 78th Interstate Environmental Health Seminar, held in Wrightsville Beach, NC, from November 12th to 14th. This event brought together representatives from member states, including Tennessee, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia. South Carolina was represented by ML Tanner from the Department of Public Health (DPH), who spoke as a Regional Vice President of the National Environmental Health Association (NEHA). Additionally, Beata Dewitt, Keisha Long and Chaquetta Green from the Department of Environmental Services (DES) presented on the South Carolina Smart Surfaces Initiative. Their presentation highlighted innovative strategies for addressing extreme heat and flooding within the City of Columbia. This seminar allowed environmental health leaders to share insights and strategies to advance regional public health initiatives. #scpha #scpublichealth #professionaldevelopment #EnvironmentalHealth #ClimateChange #ClimateAwareness
