In 2024, the San Francisco Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing and partners made over 33,000 outreach encounters to connect individuals experiencing homelessness with vital resources.    Each interaction represents an opportunity to provide support, build trust, and foster hope for a better future. As 2024 comes to a close, we’re reflecting on the accomplishments of our team and partners. This year, nearly 950 households transitioned from homelessness into stable housing through our programs. These milestones represent hope and progress in our commitment to ending homelessness in SF. Thank you to our community partners, supporters, and everyone working tirelessly to create pathways to stability. Together, we are making a difference! As 2024 draws to a close, the SF Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing would like to take a moment to thank everyone who contributes to San Francisco’s homelessness response system. To the incredible team at SFHOT, the nonprofit organizations working tirelessly, our frontline staff showing up every day, and all the nonprofit partners collaborating to ease the burden for people experiencing homelessness—thank you for your dedication, compassion, and hard work. Cold & Wet Weather Activation - 12/26 & 12/27 Due to significant rainfall expected to impact San Francisco today and tomorrow, SFHOT will be looking out for our unhoused neighbors by conducting increased wellness checks, handing out emergency blankets and ponchos, and checking for symptoms related to hypothermia at this time. The temporary shelters below will be available today and tomorrow. At the San Francisco Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing (HSH), our SFHOT team is spreading warmth and cheer this holiday season! 🎁✨ Over 300 thoughtfully curated gift bags are being delivered to our unhoused clients to provide essential items like gloves, scarves, wool socks, rain ponchos, snacks, and more—helping them stay warm and safe during the rainy winter months. 🌧️ A heartfelt thank-you to Heluna Health for your work. Today, the San Francisco Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing joins communities across the country in recognizing National Homeless Persons’ Memorial Day. This day reminds us of the urgency to address homelessness and honors the lives tragically lost to it. In San Francisco, we are working to expand housing, provide critical services, and ensure that every individual has the opportunity to thrive.
