The frame of a modern smartphone is usually milled from a single aluminum block, but what happens to the 90% waste that is generated from that process? As part of #SamsungSemiconductor's #Sustainability efforts to minimize our environmental footprint and achieve our goal of keeping water withdrawal at 2021 levels in 2030, we signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the local Korean government on December 11th to supply up to 120,000 daily tons of reclaimed water to our Giheung/Hwaseong semiconductor sites. This significant step towards sustainable #WaterManagement will help contribute to reducing our business' water consumption and minimizing our environmental impact. Participating in the event, Samsung Semiconductor, the Ministry of Environment, and related organizations all pledged to continue to work together to strengthen our environmental cooperation in the future.
