🎉 A BIG thank you to the John Deere Classic and Birdies for Charity for another incredible year! We were thrilled to have our Director of Development, Amber W., and our Board Chair, Bill Stoermer, attend the news conference and check distribution event to accept an incredible donation of over $41,000 - which included the 8% bonus match from Birdies for Charity - on behalf of SAL Community Services. Contributions like these make a meaningful difference in our efforts to serve the community. SAL Community Services will invest this generous support in strengthening children, families, and individuals to build and enhance thriving communities - through critical support and resources to families and children in need. Through the 2024 John Deere Classic and the generous Birdies for Charity program, more $15.9 MILLION was raised to support the work of nearly 500 nonprofits across the region. Snap applause for creativity and well-being! Creativity is a powerful tool for managing stress and avoiding burnout. We were reminded of how art can be a lifeline. Aubrey Barnes, Creative Lead Educator at Young Lions Roar and dynamic public speaker, hosted an inspiring professional development session for SAL Community Services' Administrative Team Managers (ATM), showing us how poetry can help prevent burnout — personally AND in our work with families and children. We were snapping along in agreement as we explored the connection between creativity and resilience. The room was abuzz with great engagement from our team. The session made us eager to integrate these tools into our everyday practices!
