Sagamore Institute was founded in 2004 to establish a different kind of think tank—one that builds and implements solutions to society’s biggest problems. Through research, consulting, and impact investing, we connect the best ideas with leaders who can translate them into smarter public policy and entrepreneurial solutions. Then, we scale the best innovations with venture capital.

Sagamore board chair Allison Barber. PhD was recognized as Ogletree Deakins Business Leader of the Year at the Indiana Chamber’s 35th Annual Awards Dinner on November 13 for her inspiring leadership with the Indiana Fever, Western Governor's University, the Pentagon, and now the Marvella Foundation. Sagamore President Teresa Lubbers says it's Barber's purpose-driven leadership that sets her apart. “She spends the time to understand a person’s life journey and helps the individual visualize ways to flourish and contribute," said Lubbers. "She models the kind of integrity and manner that she encourages in others."
