The Women In ICS Security team went through 99 impressive and detailed applications for the S4x25 scholarship in detail and debate. They’ve selected the 10 scholarship winners and two alternates who will receive a S4x25 ticket, $1,500 travel stipend, and most importantly a curated S4 experience that is geared to be career changing. The 10 selected are a diverse mix of women in different stages of their careers, some students, some in early stages and some wanting to switch into ICS Cyber later in their careers. The team shared their decision criteria: - Applicant expressed a clear and strong interest in ICS cybersecurity - Applicant career trajectory align with ICS cybersecurity - Applicant demonstrated specific career goals, and they aligned with the ICS cybersecurity field - Applicant shared hopes of career advancement for the next 3 years - Applicant demonstrated a challenge in their career - Applicant articulated the lessons learned from these challenges - Applicant demonstrated a meaningful career success or accomplishment - Applicant explained how scholarship will help achieve their goal - Applicant is likely to benefit from the networking, coaching, and resources provided - Applicant demonstrates a desire to support and uplift other women in ICS cybersecurity Many thanks to the WICSS team. They took the selection process very seriously. Multiple rounds and scoring across the team to be fair and select 10 who would benefit greatly from the experience.

About us
S4 is … Optimistic … Forward Looking … Creative … Driving Change Set free a conservative, slow moving, change resistant community to discover new ideas and come up with innovative ways to use these new ideas to deploy secure, resilient and better ICS. S4 began as 40 people in a small theater room in 2007. It has grown to 3 days on 3 stages with over 1,100 attendees at S4x23. Many new ideas, companies, attack information, industry efforts and more began at S4.

Last call to get your OT Security Book in the #S4x25 bookstore. Most important if you are coming to S4 and would like to sign your book. Add your book in the comments We have the company that runs the RSA bookstore coming to S4 next year. I've created a list of recent and classic books to suggest for the bookstore. I'm sure I missed a few.

NEW To S4x25: OT Security Training Roundup OT Security training quickly went from lacking to plentiful. How do you choose between the various training offerings? We hope to help S4x25 attendees make this decision for themselves and their colleagues (many S4 attendees are leaders in their company's OT security programs and need to figure out how to train their growing staff). When: Feb 11th, 3:00PM - 6:00PM Where: S4x25, JW Marriott Tampa Water Street on the 4th floor (outside the Main Stage) What: Organizations offering OT security training will be given a table in the Roundup area. They can bring whatever they want to put on that table along with signage. The most important part is the people staffing the table can explain the training courses and answer questions. Who is it designed for? What makes it unique? Who are the instructors? Format? Certifications? Who: Any organization that provides OT security training and has a registered attendee at S4x25 who can speak to it. (Note: this doesn't include product/solution training courses, e.g. vendor x on their product) Price: Free (you do need a ticket to S4; you were coming anyway, right?) We will reach out to the training organizations we know attending S4, and we will likely miss some. Contact us at info@s4xevents.com if you want a table.

We are changing the prize for winning My Favorite Metric at S4x25. In past years, the winner received a free ticket to S4. At S4x25 the winner will get $2000 in cash, and second place is $500 (better than a set of steak knives). Any S4x25 attendee can apply to be a contestant. You get 3 minutes to explain your OT security or cyber risk metric and why it's great. Celebrity judges will give you feedback and a score. We will send more details to attendees in the January monthly email.
