Congratulations to Diane Davis, EKG technician, Cardiology Services; Palmer Brown, Unit Clerk in the Emergency Department; Godfrey Harris, CCT in the Emergency Department and Catherine Jordon, Nursing Supervisor who recently celebrated significant milestones of service at RWJUH Somerset! ◼️ Diane began working in the food and nutrition services department at RWJUH Somerset in 1974. After five years, she transitioned to the Cardiology department, where she has worked for the last forty-five years. Congratulations to Diane on 50 years of service! ◼️ Palmer joined RWJUH Somerset in 1974 as the Secretaries Team Leader. She has spent her entire career at our hospital. Thank you for your 50 years of dedication to our patients and community, Palmer! ◼️ Godfrey joined RWJUH Somerset in 1978. He is always helping his colleagues and is an expert with our ED equipment. Congratulations on 45 years of service at our hospital, Godfrey! ◼️ Catherine Jordan recently celebrated 40 years of service! She joined RWJUH Somerset in 2021 as a Nursing Supervisor. Previously, Catherine worked in various areas including Orthopedics, Gynecologic/Oncology, Breast Center and PAT at our sister hospital, RWJUH in New Brunswick.

RWJUH Somerset employees supported 66 families for the "Christmas Adopt A Family Program." Gift cards for the families in our community are distributed by the Somerset County Department of Social Services. Thank you to all departments who adopted a family for Christmas!

Congratulations to Patty Kasher, BSN, RN, RN-BC who recently celebrated her retirement! Patty was an invaluable team member in our hospital's Same Day Surgery Center. She was a lifelong employee at RWJ Somerset beginning her career over 35 years ago as a graduate nurse on our 1-East Unit! Happy retirement, Patty!🎈👏🎈

Earlier this month, RWJ Somerset participated in Somerset County Action Program (SCAP)'s "Shop with a Hero" program at Target in Bridgewater, NJ. Volunteers helped 150 underserved children navigate the store to pick out needed items. The hospital's Community Health Team hosted an informational table that included services, programs and SNAP benefits that are available to community members.

Last week, over 250 children and their families gathered at RWJUH Somerset's Steeplechase Cancer Center for our Annual Holiday Celebration! The free celebration included photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, face paining, games, music, refreshments and gifts. Last Thursday, Santa arrived on a SWAT truck with presents for children and grandchildren of RWJ Somerset Steeplechase Cancer Center patients. 🎅 For the 12th consecutive year, the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Detectives/Policemen Benevolent Association’s Local 307 sponsored the celebration for cancer patients and their families. Spreading Holiday Cheer at RWJ Somerset! 🎄🎅 Our amazing team brought the holiday spirit to life this past week with festive attire including wearing green, blue, holiday hats and headbands, holiday socks, Grinch attire and of course "ugly" holiday sweaters!
