On Thursday, Richland County held a swearing-in ceremony for newly elected and re-elected members of County Council and the County coroner. Two Councilmembers, Tyra Little (District 3) and Tish Dozier Alleyne (District 8), were sworn into office for the first time. Returning Councilmembers Derrek Pugh (District 2), Gretchen D. Barron (District 7), Jesica Mackey (District 9) and Cheryl English (District 10), who were re-elected in November, were also sworn in. Naida Rutherford, who also won re-election in November, was sworn in and will begin her second term as County coroner. At a special called meeting later Thursday, Councilwoman Mackey was re-elected as chair and Councilman Pugh was re-elected as vice chair of County Council. Congratulations to our Councilmembers and Coroner Rutherford! #RichlandCountySC
