We partnered with an engineer from American Structurepoint to assist with selective demolition. ⚒️ This helped us conduct a thorough structural inspection and provided the insights needed to create a detailed repair specification and scope. Also - we designed a temporary enclosure to protect the damaged area through the winter. This was to make sure the structure is ready for permanent concrete repairs in the spring. Failed caulking and mortar joints are common but avoidable with the right techniques. Here’s what went wrong in these examples: 🔵Caulking Issues: -Old sealant wasn’t removed (Urethanes and silicones don’t bond) -Missing backer rod reduces flexibility and durability -Sealant is too thin for the width of the joint 🔵Mortar Issues: -Thin application over unprepped joints = no lasting bond Got questions about your building? Talk to RestoreWorks today. #Masonry #Restoration #Caulking #Mortar
