Huge shoutout to our amazing partners at H&C Upholstery for helping us create our very first comforter! 🙌 ✨ Our client loved the pattern of her duvet cover but wanted it transformed into a cozy comforter. We are incredibly grateful to Susan and Peter from Billy Baldwin Studios for partnering with us in our mission. As students progress through their training, they’ll have the unique opportunity to apprentice at Billy Baldwin Studios, gaining hands-on experience in both their mill and upholstery/sewing workrooms. This is an extraordinary opportunity for our students and our program. Founded in 1992 to honor Billy Baldwin’s iconic designs and preserve his legacy, Billy Baldwin Studios continues to set the standard for top designers, decorators, and architects worldwide. Alexis is the second of our students to apprentice with Billy Baldwin Studios. Here, she’s learning to build the frame of a sofa, which she’ll later upholster. It was a bittersweet day today. Since September, Sanaa has been a part of our upholstery program as a high school intern. Today, we had to say goodbye as she prepares to leave for the University of North Carolina School of the Arts to pursue a degree in Theatre Set Production. We absolutely loved working with Sanaa and will miss her terribly but are so excited that she will be able to take the skills she learned while in our program and apply them to her future career in theatre. Congratulations Sanaa!!
