Renovare Development is deeply grateful to the Marquette Township Planning Commission for their unanimous approval of the Final PUD submittal for our County Road site! This transformative project will bring 48 for-sale homes to Marquette Township, designed to support mixed-income families, with the majority targeted to households earning below 120% of Area Median Income. As a critical workforce housing initiative, this development has garnered incredible regional support and will play a vital role in addressing the housing shortage in Marquette County. Our next step is securing approval for our Housing Brownfield Plan with Marquette Township and the Marquette County Brownfield Authority this January. Today we take great pride in featuring Brinda Devine, a seasoned professional in the commercial real estate industry with +30 years of experience. In addition, she is an author of Christian inspirational books and a podcast host called "Living a Life of Purpose".  Specializing in asset management and development, Brinda has successfully overseen diverse portfolios of corporate real estate assets and fostered strategic public-private partnerships, particularly in higher education and non-profit organizations. In 2020, Brinda founded P8 Real Estate Solutions, a development company dedicated to revitalizing small-scale retail spaces within Detroit neighborhoods. This year, the company renovated and reactivated a +100-year-old building to create Kornr Store—a small-scale neighborhood market and coffee spot located at 6224 16th Street, Detroit’s historic NW Goldberg neighborhood. Additionally, Brinda is a co-founding board member of the Women’s Sustainable Development Initiative (WSDI), a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting emerging women real estate developers. Burton, co-founder and CEO of SpaceLab Detroit, a shared office and coworking community of urban innovators who create smart solutions for their neighbors and the city. Building on her 30-plus years experience in the design and construction, she recently co-founded A/E Collaborative, a design delivery and project management consulting firm. Karen’s experience includes technical expertise, design, and construction documentation services for such projects as the One Campus Martius building (formerly Compuware Headquarters), The Lions Training Facility, Ford Field, Greektown Casino in Detroit, and City Center in Las Vegas. She also taught architecture and interior design courses at Metro Detroit-area colleges. Karen advocates for inclusion and diversity in the many roles she has. Just to name a few, this includes being a founding board member of the Women's Sustainable Development Initiative (WSDI), a nonprofit that providing financial access and resources for emerging women developers; being a charter member of the Detroit chapters of the National Organization of Minority Architects (NOMA) and the National Association of Black Women in Construction (NABWIC); and co-chair of Urban Land Institute Michigan’s Pathways to Inclusion committee.
