Big news today! LCDs for Cellular and Tissue-Based Products (CTP/Skin Substitutes grafts) for treating DFUs and VLUs were released today. As expected, CMS has proposed changes that will significantly limit these treatment options. Effective Feb 12, 2025, Skin Substitute grafts are limited to 4 applications but with documentation of medical necessity, up to 8 may be allowed. Must show a 50% reduction in wound size for additional applications past 4. Up to 16 weeks of treatment are allotted with documentation that includes progression of wound closure.
