  • The news is out - our Check for AI feature is live! 🙌🏼

Good on Qwoted for introducing the new "Check for AI" feature. They were already flagging profiles that used AI routinely, but this one really sharpens the search--a relief for writers concerned about the authenticity of pitched responses. Great work! 👏🏻

Global Communications, Media, PR and Content Executive | Team Builder with Proven Results | Professor | Storyteller | Broadcaster | MBA

I have worked for a lot of iconic brands in my time: CNN, "America's Most Wanted," SAP, "Howard Stern" and the list goes on and on.  I know that Qwoted will be added to that list very soon. I recently joined the company as Global Head of Media. It's a coming home of sorts. Having been in the media for years, this gives me an opportunity to talk to media members all day every day and get them linked up with the premiere platform to help them do their jobs! Qwoted is completely free for media and all content creators and is a marketplace that connects them with guests and experts; helps them get story ideas; magnifies their work with an audience of hundreds of thousands and so much more. Further, Qwoted is democratizing access to the media because of the hundreds of thousands of sources on the platform from small business owners all the way to Fortune 500 CEO's and celebrities. I am grateful to the founders - Daniel P. Simon and Matthew Kneller for their trust in me for this incredibly important position. And to all of you - for always supporting me and having my back and picking up the phone (or reading the text). And, I can't wait to reconnect with many of my old friends in the media. Please reach out. I can't wait to hear from you. We have white glove service for content creators that can't be beat! And to my new team - let's do this!  Qwoted is on a meteoric rise and we won't stop until every member of the media is on the platform!

SEO writer and consultant helping brands increase organic website traffic and earn more with results-driven content people actually want to read

HARO/Connectively is being discontinued, so if you haven't started using Qwoted to get sources or be a source for articles – now's the time to start! I use Qwoted all the time to get sources for my articles, which is something I highly recommend for writing rank-worthy articles that people actually want to read. Sources can help you add extra trust and uniqueness to your content – which Google and readers want. You can also use Qwoted to be a source yourself, which can help with your SEO. For example, if you offer insights, the publication will usually link your website when they share your quote(s). For more on using sources in your blog articles and using blogs to improve your website SEO and traffic, check out my SEO blogging course: https://lnkd.in/gaYAV6WU

    Product Copy For E-Commerce Brands

Over the years, I’ve seen what works and what doesn’t work when it comes to speaking to subject matter experts for my product reviews and other blog posts. So, how do you ensure that you’re getting what you need from the interview to create valuable content? Check out my 5 tips that help me make the most of the interview and get the insight readers are looking for. 1. Find the source You can find industry experts by joining PR platforms, social media, or reaching out to people in your personal network. From experience, whenever I need to use experts in a story, PR platforms like Qwoted are the most efficient because I can connect with different types of experts and get results quickly. Social media networks like LinkedIn and Twitter are also useful, so it’s worth spending time to build your network. 2. Ask and You Shall Receive If you don’t ask the right questions, don’t blame the interviewee when you don’t get the response you’re looking for. You set yourself up for failure when you ask close-ended questions that require yes or no answers....especially if you’re conducting an e-mail interview and can’t follow up instantly. Instead, use open-ended questions that start with “how” or “why” that prompts experts to go deeper with their explanation. It’s not a big deal when sources give more info, as I can always paraphrase or edit but it’s an issue when I don’t have much to work with. 3. Remember Your Audience Simplicity is key when it comes to questions, so make sure your questions are clear and easy for the expert to understand, especially when their responses are about something technical or if there is jargon involved. To help explain concepts better for your audience, ask questions such as “How does that work?” or “Can you help me understand this?” Most likely your expert will be happy to break it down in layman’s terms for your audience.   4. Tidy up afterwards A story is so much better when experts speak from their experiences and give real-life examples to help readers get the point....even if they ramble or go off-topic. When that happens, pluck hidden gems from the conversation and use them as direct quotes or paraphrase so readers get the gist of what’s said. 5. Watch out for AI When conducting interviews by e-mail, watch out for AI responses. While it’s fine for sources to use AI for research or help make their responses more readable, the point of including an expert is to highlight their expertise and personal experience to offer more value to readers, which AI can never do.

We love helping podcasters find great guests!

Podcasters! If you haven't heard about Qwoted, check it out. It's tremendously helpful for finding guests on specific topics, and the best part is it's free for podcasters. I think the guests' PR firms pay a fee for listing.... Tip for the guests who are listed by their PR firms: double-check what your listing looks like on Qwoted.com and any other listing, as some of them are not great. I have had different experiences with various PR firms; some are amazing, and for others, I feel the speaker needs to re-evaluate their PR firm. There are a few outstanding firms I have come across, such as Brenda Christensen from Stellar Public Relations.
