We had an incredible time celebrating the grand opening of our client, FARO BLANCO RESORT following its $14 million renovation! The event featured cocktail hour, nautical knot-tying demos, and a guided tour by a “Faro Blanco Captain.” Highlights included the ribbon-cutting ceremony, a sunset lighthouse lighting, and a reception with live music, ceviche stations, and rum tastings. As the newest addition to Hilton’s Curio Collection, the resort boasts upgraded spacious accommodations with bayside views of the Florida Keys, a new signature dining concept, Lighthouse Kitchen + Bar, in addition to three other F&B outlets, four outdoor pools, 40,000 sq. ft. of event space, programming including snorkeling, fishing, yoga, and more. Join Vogue inside the just-opened Palm House in Palm Beach. “It has this almost ethereal quality that feels like stepping into The Little Mermaid—but make it couture, like something out of a Schiaparelli dream," said Minda Dowling, the hotel’s art consultant, describing Christa Wilm’s fantastical seashell tapestry to writer Lilah Ramzi. Should it be helpful, sharing 4 take aways from Travel + Leisure’s Evolution of Travel Breakfast at ILTM. Thanks, Jacqueline Gifford, for assembling a panel of sharp experts who shared openly. ❤️ 1. Travel is just the lens Jack Ezon, founder/managing partner, EMBARK Beyond: -Travel is not the destination; it's just the lens. Travel is a platform for discovery, lifestyle and bringing people together. -I’s not just seeing the art – it’s the cool stuff that goes on around it. -Thirty percent of the people who go to St. Moritz don’t ski; it’s a winter holiday. -People appreciate craftsmanship and what goes beyond the product. -We were overlooking what people are doing anyway – sports, college tours, kids. -We are seeing groups of people traveling together – couples, girlfriends. Travel is a way to connect. 2. Event Travel has gone over-the-top Keith Waldon, founder, Departure Lounge Travel: -Event Travel has gone over-the-top. Music trips are driving business with mind-blowing requests, like suites decorated for Swifties. Audrey Hendley, president, American Express Global Travel & Lifestyle Services: -It’s not just the sports event, it’s the surround sound of everything going on around it. -People no longer go to see Miami; they go an event there. -People want a little bit more than what their friends did. People want to broadcast back home. Graeme Davis, president, Baha Mar: -We had 20,000 guests at Baha Mar for the NCAA. College sports, like UCONN’s women’s team, have tremendous fan bases. 3. Wild Factor Keith: -The trend is the wild factor. -Screw keeping the home for the kids. (Keith is moving to Italy.) -It’s Andrea Bocelli performing in private. -Families are bringing art experts and language teacher on trips. -We are also seeing that people want to plan their own surprise and delights and have us pull it off. -It is over-the-top; they keep raising the bar. Graeme: -We are building a podcast studio near the beach and will have podcasters in residence. Come for a week with your favorite podcaster. There are 300 million podcast listeners. Audrey: A customer loved a perfume, so they opened early for her and explained how the perfume is made. 4. Gamification of Travel Jack: -People are aging backwards. They want recreation and to get out of their routines. -We just did an amazing race for a super celebrity. -We created a summer camp with counselors for a 50th birthday party. -Take people out of their comfort zone and this is what they will remember. Graeme: -Pickleball revenue exceeds tennis. We just built 6 pickleball courts. -Topgolf and PopGolf have been game changers.
