🚀 Exciting News! We’re thrilled to introduce PyQASM, a Python toolkit for OpenQASM program analysis, validation, and compilation! 🎉 OpenQASM’s large and expressive grammar presents unique challenges for developers and researchers working on quantum-classical programs. PyQASM stands out as one of the very few tools designed to cover the full breadth of OpenQASM operations. It acts as a lightweight, standalone solution for processing QASM programs, streamlining workflows with efficient validation, analysis, and optimization capabilities. 🔎 What PyQASM Offers: 📌 Support for QASM 2 and QASM 3: Seamlessly handle programs written in both versions of the OpenQASM language. 📌 Inlining & Unrolling: Flatten complex constructs into basic operations, enabling optimizations like inlining subroutine calls and decomposing gates into a default set of 1- and 2-qubit operations for easier transpilation. 📌 Analysis and Transformations: Compute key circuit metrics (e.g., qubit count, depth), manage idle qubits, reverse qubit order, and perform other program-level optimizations. 📌 Command-Line Tool: Validate OpenQASM programs directly from the terminal with just a command. Check out the example notebooks for PyQASM on qBraid Lab : https://lnkd.in/g-nY69ii 💡 We Need Your Feedback! We’ve released initial versions of PyQASM and made significant progress, but we’re actively working toward a stable release with more features and refinements. Your insights are invaluable to us. We’ve opened an issue titled Call for Feedback (https://lnkd.in/gCFFbSCg), inviting input on the following aspects: * Grammar Support: Suggestions to enhance coverage for OpenQASM constructs, ensuring all features are supported effectively * User Experience: Ideas to make PyQASM more user-friendly and intuitive * Optimization and Transformations: Feedback on additional optimizations to improve performance and versatility * Codebase Organization: Thoughts on improving code structure for scalability and maintainability Feel free to reply under one or more of these categories, or share general feedback. Your contributions will help us refine PyQASM and ensure it meets the needs of the quantum computing community! Check out PyQASM, and let us know how we can make it even better! 💻 PyQASM Documentation : https://lnkd.in/gE2F7Rg2 Package Link : https://lnkd.in/gZ85UT3C GitHub Repo : https://lnkd.in/gPf4G3C7 #quantum #openqasm #quantumcomputing #opensource

Crafting a pitch that captures the excitement of quantum computing while keeping the feet on the ground is like trying to balance on a quantum superposition—notoriously tricky! My latest talk at the 2024 MIT R&D Conference, though, was where I think I finally nailed it with a balanced perspective on quantum tech and what we're up to at qBraid. I hope you all find it as enlightening as I found it challenging! Check it out: Thank you to Irina Gaziyeva and Catarina Madeira at the MIT Industrial Liaison Program and MIT Startup Exchange for inviting us to speak and share our company's vision. #quantumcomputing #qBraid #quantumsoftware #MITStatups, #MITfounders, #MITSTEX, #MITILP

JB Pritzker: "[When it comes to quantum,] we're in the first inning in my view. Someday people will say, look at the overnight success that's occurred in quantum--but [it will have been] a '20 year overnight success.' And all of you are at the very front end. We want to be in the front end: Illinois, Chicago, University of Chicago, University of Illinois, and all the partners regionally and across the world." The Chicago Quantum Summit had a run of amazing speakers this morning: JB Pritzker, who talked about the strength of the #MidwestQuantum ecosystem; Noel Goddard of Qunnect, who talked about the company's product development ethos "Hardware Not Hype"; Joseph Altepeter of DARPA, who presented the goals of the Quantum Benchmarking Initiative; and Pete Shadbolt, who outlined PsiQuantum's achievements and plans for the upcoming Illinois Quantum & Microelectronics Park. We have a great afternoon ahead! A panel of quantum startups including TreQ, Qolab, SynthBits; Charina Chou from GoogleAI; and Matthew Kinsella from Infleqtion. Tune in on Zoom! https://lnkd.in/gfkw8yui #QuantumSummit2024
