One of our customers, a contractor, shared a horror story with us about a blocked sidewalk. In the course of a few days, the dirt pile he had on the sidewalk shifted and a complaint was called into the city on Friday when they were leaving the jobsite. By the time he heard about the complaint, it was the next week and the fees had mounted to the tune of $250 per day over the weekend. Complaints about sidewalks are routed through the 311 notification system, but it can take a few days to be assigned and inspected.
