The FPS team recently attended a very valuable event, ‘Decarbonising Logistics Showcase’, organised by Simply Supply Chain Limited. The event was superbly executed and well attended. Over 40 FMCG suppliers, exhibitors, and industry experts gathered to discuss the available options for decarbonising their supply chains and accelerating their journeys to net zero. Philip Roe, President of Logistics UK, gave an insightful speech and pulled no punches – the logistics sector is responsible for around 20% of the UK’s carbon emissions. Inaction is not an option, and the industry needs to pick-up the pace. Time is of the essence, as described by Jonathan Kittow FCILT of Simply Supply Chain in his synopsis of the event here: https://lnkd.in/eDBjdY7n Making the switch to electric heavy goods vehicles (eHGVs) needs much consideration. That’s where Project JOLT can help. #ProjectJOLT aims to accelerate the decarbonisation of the UK’s HGVs via allowing consortium members the opportunity to evaluate the use of eHGVs in their operations. The innovative programme involves deployment of eHGVs and rigid trucks from leading OEMs and fleet operators. The collaboration allows them to evaluate integrating eHGVs under a wide range of operating scenarios and use cases that can be understood by the industry. FPS is supporting the trial, using its Operate platform to consolidate data from participating vehicles, chargers, and logistics systems. These aggregated data are extracted to provide anonymised insights for members of JOLT. If your business would like to evaluate using electric eHGVs and access a wealth of data-driven insights into vehicle performance, efficiency, and costs, Project JOLT is welcoming new members for real-world trials.
