Yesterday, we held our October Pop-Up Pantry in partnership with the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank. It was our last market-style event for the year, and in just TWO hours, we served 245 families! Thanks to grant funding and support from the I Support the Girls - Northeast Ohio program, we were able to provide essentials like shampoo, conditioner, razors, soap, body wash, toothpaste, toothbrushes, feminine products, and more! We also offered flu and COVID vaccinations, Project DAWN (Narcan) kits, and Portage County Ohio WIC enrollments. A huge thank you to our amazing PCHD team, MRC Volunteers, Kent State University College of Public Health Mobile Flashes, and all of our fantastic community partners who joined us: - UH Portage Medical Center - United Way of Portage County Ohio & Imagination Library - Portage Learning Centers - Family & Community Services AmeriCorps - Portage County District Library -The Children's Advocacy Center of Portage County We couldn’t do this without you all! Mark your calendars—our next drive-thru pantry will be on November 7th from 1-3pm at PCHD. Together, we’re making a difference! Please share to spread the word!
