Thanks so much for the shout-out Ali Yildirim🌲! Excited to be working with you. Keep the connector requests coming 🚀
Worked on a fun project last week where I pulled hundreds of thousands of rows of data from Smartlead into Bigquery so we could build some visualizations in Looker. This was made super easy by Portable, which has an integration between Smartlead and Bigquery. I ran the data pull over night and had all the data imported into Bigquery. We then pulled the data into Looker and joined the tables to create some pretty unique reporting. Our goal was to create a unified dashboard so our clients can visualize their paid media, outbound email, and LinkedIn outreach campaign stats in one centralized place. Portable makes this super easy to do. And their customer support has been great to work with. On Monday I sent over the API documentation for HeyReach asking if it's possible to build out a connection between the tool and Bigquery and the next day the connection was already built. 🤯

I had the opportunity to chat about the minimum viable data stack, Databricks, and Portable (ELT tool) with the one and only, Ethan Aaron. Ethan is very respected in the data community and really a fantastic, down to earth guy to chat with. Topics we covered: -The value of practitioners doing performance tests and content comparing tools such as Databricks against others. -Why do some end-users find Databricks overwhelming, and how to simplify that experience if you are an end-user. Hint: SQL. -Portable's latest customer using their recently added Databricks support. -Some of my early Databricks experience building out pipelines as an analytics person having to wear a data engineering hat for the first time. -Ethan's personal thoughts on Databricks. *Recommend increasing volume when watch the video. **Ethan/Portable and I have no business affiliation. He is just a fantastic guy and I do recommend checking out what Portable has to offer! Hopefully more videos to come together!

I'm very pleased to be joined in the latest Drill to Detail Podcast episode by none-other than Ethan Aaron, CEO and Founder of Portable, to talk about what to do if you’re the first data hire at a company, when and when not to hire a consultant, the founding story of Portable.io and the long tail (and economic model) of the data integration connectors market https://lnkd.in/eaGwEPZn

Looking for a simple playbook to make your company data-driven? Check out the post below + framework. This is how we run our business at Portable.
Running a company with data is WAY easier than most people think. 1. Identify your company's current strategic goals 2. Find metrics that can be used to measure progress against those goals 3. Identify the bets your company is making to hit each goal 4. Find metrics that can be used to measure whether those bets are paying off 5. Get all of this ☝️ in front of your executives so they can run the business __ The first image below: How I ALWAYS recommend companies structure their exec level dashboards. The second image below: How much effort should be invested in ALL of the other dashboards at the company.
