A special documentary – ‘Edith: Porsche’s Volcano Ascent’ – following the audacious adventures of a small but mighty team is now available on #PrimeVideo via #PrimeVideoDirect in the United States and the United Kingdom. The film, which was four and a half years in the making, debuted at #MontereyCarWeek earlier this year before going on to win ‘Best Documentary Feature’ at the 2024 International Motor Film Awards. The 50-minute documentary by independent filmmakers TangentVector, Inc. chronicles the long and challenging journey of a small team aiming to drive to the top of the world’s highest volcano – Ojos del Salado, Chile – in a specially created Porsche 911, named Edith. As the documentary shows, the project was far from straightforward – with success coming at the last possible moment, after two failed attempts. Operating at altitudes of over 20,000 feet, temperatures far below freezing and with only half the air their bodies were used to thanks to the extreme altitude, the project pushed the team and the car to extremes – making for a compelling and very human story. Initially being launched in the United States and United Kingdom, the documentary is planned to be made available in other regions, including mainland Europe, very soon. She replaces Trevor Arthur who moved to the role of President and CEO, Porsche Cars Canada last month.   “Meike has done an outstanding job and will be missed at our One Porsche Drive headquarters,” said John Cappella, Executive Vice President and COO at Porsche Cars North America. “I am convinced she will thrive on the opportunities this role allows.”   Meike began her career at Porsche at global headquarters in Zuffenhausen. Porsche Cars North America Honors U.S. Military Veterans at Porsche and in the Greater Atlanta Community   We proudly welcomed U.S. military veterans and special guests from the community to our headquarters and Porsche Experience Center Atlanta.   “I want to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who came together for this year’s Veterans Day event, especially those who served in the U.S. Armed Forces,” said George Feygin, VP of Legal and Chief Legal counsel at Porsche Cars North America. “We were honored to host the Honor Guard from Woodward Academy, members of the Delta Air Lines Delta TechOps and Veterans BRG, along with Porsche team members and their guests who have served.
