  • We’re stuffed! The annual holiday potluck was delicious and fun. The most loved dish was a chicken curry from Bill. And Megan was awarded the new traveling trophy “Goldie Pond” after winning PCC’s largest game of rock, paper, scissors. This is definitely a good natured crew!

It’s not every day that you get to be a part of something bigger than yourself, but it’s extraordinary when it happens. The Hansen Company was honored to serve as the Construction Manager for the new Athene North Shore Recreation Area at Easter Lake. This new park and attraction at Easter Lake caters to people of all abilities through “Universal Design” principles that are on the cutting edge of what’s been done anywhere in the country. The park will open new opportunities to many who use wheelchairs or have other physical or mental limitations to experience the outdoors and recreational experiences like everyone else, including an ADA Accessible pontoon boat, extra wide pathways, zero-entry water ramps, as well as playground equipment and natural playscapes that are accessible and inviting. Working directly with Polk County Conservation and design team Shive-Hattery, we are so proud to have played a part in a project that will significantly impact many people in our community. As the weather turns warmer and outdoor recreation becomes more prevalent, we hope you will take an opportunity to visit the exciting new Athene North Shore Recreation Area at Easter Lake.
