We round out our season of holiday giving to the community with Pewaukee Food Pantry receiving a donation of food and a monetary donation to support families in need. We continue our thankfulness today sharing the results of our Toy Drive. PLM employees contributed over 80 toys of various ages 2-16 and donated to The Women’s Center-Waukesha along with $1000. We are proud members of our community and know they will go to deserving families in need. #community #plmpaving Pave America

PLM celebrated our annual Holiday party at The Ingleside Hotel this past weekend. Lots of laughs and the company of our family of employees we are thankful for our team. Its important to appreciate how hard everyone works to accomplish our goals and equally important to celebrate with the husbands, wives and significant others who endure a construction season! We had friendly games for team play and crowned a Bags tournament winner!

🎄To all our valued customers and friends: PLM is organizing a Toy and Food drive for families in need this holiday season. Many families are unable to provide the benefits of meals and gifts for loved ones that we are accustomed to. We are accepting donations in the form of unwrapped children’s gifts (ages 2-18) as well as monetary donations (cash/gift cards) from both our employees and any of our customers who wish to participate. 🎁 We hope to raise $5,000 and 100 toys to donate this year between our leadership, employees, and our customers generosity. PLM will be making a matching donation up to $2,500 to contribute to the Beneficiaries of our Toy and Food Drive are as follows: Food Pantry of Waukesha County Pewaukee Food Pantry Waukesha Womens Center (Toy wish list from Women’s Center) • Please make sure food items are non-perishable. • Toys do not need to be wrapped. • If you would like a receipt for your donation, please let us know. ❄️ Tips for Working in Extreme Cold: ✔️ Wear appropriate clothing. Wear several layers of clothing. The layers should fit loosely because tight clothing reduces blood circulation and warm blood needs to be circulated to the extremities. ✔️ When choosing clothing, be aware that some clothing may restrict movement which, in and of itself, may create a hazardous working situation. ✔️ Make sure to protect the ears, face, hands and feet in extremely cold weather. Boots should be waterproof and insulated. Be sure to wear a hat. The goal should be to expose as little skin as possible to the cold environment. ✔️ Workers in extreme conditions should take frequent, short breaks in warm, dry shelters to allow their bodies to warm up. Drink warm beverages and eat warm, high-calorie foods. ✔️Avoid exhaustion and fatigue because they sap energy, and energy is needed to keep muscles warm. ✔️ Use the buddy system – work in pairs so that one worker can recognize danger signs. Learn the signs and symptoms of cold-induced illnesses and injuries and what to do to help workers. ✔️ Signs and Symptoms of Hypothermia (dangerously low body temperature) Early Stage Shivering Fatigue Loss of coordination Confusion and disorientation Hypothermia is a medical emergency. If not treated in the early stage, the condition will become life-threatening. Late Stage No shivering Blue skin Dilated pupils Slowed pulse and breathing Loss of consciousness Request immediate medical assistance. First Aid for Hypothermia Request emergency medical assistance. Move the victim into a warm room or shelter. Remove any wet clothing. ✔️ Warm the center of the victim’s body first, that is, the chest, neck, head, and groin. One may also use loose, dry layers of blankets, clothing, towels, or sheets. ✔️ If the victim is conscious, warm beverages may help increase the body temperature, but do not give alcoholic beverages. ✔️ After the victim’s body temperature has increased, keep the victim dry and wrapped in a warm blanket, including the head and neck.
