It’s been a whirlwind month with many game publishers joining us! 🎉 They have so many popular games but I’ll try to give a little highlight of why we’re excited to carry their games on the Playsum Games Store! Team17 Digital - We’ve dreamed of having them on our store! Overcooked, Dredge, Blasphemous. Need I say more? 😍 Hooded Horse Inc. - An amazing publisher for indie games (we love to support indie devs!) and just sooo many good strategy games: Manor Lords, Norland, Against the Storm, Workers & Resources: Soviet Republic. Can’t believe we carry these now! Secret Mode - Critter Café just came out a few weeks ago and looks like the kind of game I adore as a lover of animals and cozy games! Plus, I’ve been hearing people often talk about A Little to the Left and Loddlenaut on subreddits I frequent for like a year! Surreal! NeocoreGames - They’ve got the super popular Warhammer 40k series, not to mention The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing and King Arthur: Knight’s Tale! Fantastic games with Arthurian mythology and a gothic-noir universe 🖤 Destructive Creations - Well known for developing and publishing fascinating action games, like Ancestors Legacy that’s inspired by European history. 63 Days also looks like a really unique stealth game that I’d love to play! HypeTrain Digital - I personally love simulation and survival games so I’m drawn to Nova Lands, Quasimorph, Voidtrain, and Stoneshard! They’ve also got several great looking games coming out in 2025! HandyGames - Two of my absolute favorites: their game Oddsparks reminds me of Pikmin (a game close to my heart) and Endling - Extinction is Forever looks both adorable and emotional! You’re the last mother fox on Earth and trying to care for your cubs, awww 🦊 Firestoke - They have fun games like It’s Only Money where you steal and scheme to reclaim a city (it has co-op mode so me and my brother/co-founder are thinking of playing this on stream!). And Hauntii has caught my eye - a wholesome exploration of a ghost’s journey through the afterlife. Silver Lining Interactive - Caravan SandWitch is a really charming game that I’ve followed since its release earlier this year! I appreciate its inclusive and diverse design too. We’ve had a flurry of new publishers join us in the last few weeks 🎉 🌱 Marvelous Inc. Home to Story of Seasons and Rune Factory, two iconic franchises that inspired our own sci-fantasy farm sim, Plasma Plaines. Their games have been a huge influence on us, and we’re so excited to welcome them aboard! 🧪 PQube: They’ve got standout titles like Potion Permit, Kitaria Fables, White Day: A Labyrinth Named School, and many other beloved games! 🧛♀️ Stunlock Studios: Creators of the vampire survival hit, V Rising. This game was really popular during our Black Friday sale! 🕹 Joystick Ventures: Bringing even more variety to the Playsum catalog with high-quality games like Lost in Play, ANTONBLAST, and one of their newest titles: Hell of an Office. This is our first time participating in the big Black Friday sale! 🎉 Last year, we just missed it! We launched our game store in January as a first version. Functional, but not as full-fledged as it is now. And since we had just launched, we didn't have a lot of publishers on board yet. Now 10 months later, with 50+ amazing publishers and a much-improved store, we're excited to be running our first Black Friday sale with hundreds of incredible games at massive discounts. And, in celebration, we’re hosting a contest where you can win a $100 shopping spree as well as other prizes 😍 It's been a fun, exciting and busy time navigating this big sale so far! It's definitely something you want to be well-prepared for - there’s always a million moving parts to manage! 😵 What lessons have you learned from past Black Fridays? When building a new product or feature, you need to assess the potential safety risks and how it could be misused. I call this risk discovery. So, how do you approach this? - Define the functionality: what can it do? Is it an e-commerce platform? Does the product encourage people to meet up either online or offline? Is it a two-sided model like Uber? These are all vastly different T&S issues that the product will face. - Who is the target demographic? This can tell you a lot about the kinds of risks there will be. Are your users primarily under 18, mostly women, or from minority groups? Knowing your audience helps anticipate and address specific safety concerns. - Are there similar existing products/features? Research to see what safety issues have been occurring on these comparable products. You can find news articles, social media discussions on e.g. Reddit, and even feedback from app reviews can offer insights. You want to go in knowing what kinds of issues you'll be facing and proactively fight them, rather than end up reacting later. This is exactly what we’re doing at Playsum and it’s been invaluable knowing what other gaming and community platforms are currently dealing with, from a mixture of a career in T&S, personal experience, research, and user interviews. #trustandsafety #gaming #onlinesafety

We've been a bit quiet over the past six months, but we've been hard at work at Playsum and have accomplished a lot that we’re proud of! Here's an update of what all we've been up to: 🚀 Web App Launch: We released our web app, which brings a big upgrade to the UI and functionality compared to the mobile app. We're also nearing completion on a feature that will let users create their own communities! After that, we'll begin rolling out a range of safety features to give admins and moderators the tools they need to keep their communities safe. 🛍 Playsum Games Store Upgrades: We've launched a ton of new features, transforming the store from a first version into a full-fledged game store. New additions include a backorder system, multiple payment options, a wishlist feature, Steam reviews and ratings, countdown timers, a price slider, and DLC toggle - just to name a few! A big thank you to Mads Gerber for the expert advice! 🎮 Expanding Publisher Partnerships: We’ve added several new publishers, bringing our total to 45! Recent partners include Marvelous Entertainment, Indie io, Atari, and Maximum Entertainment. We’re thrilled to keep growing our publisher relationships and game catalog! 🤝 New Collaborations: To boost our visibility, we’ve partnered with major deal aggregators gg.deals, IsThereAnyDeal, and Nexarda, as well as the #1 creator wishlist platform, Throne. This is helping more gamers discover our games and great deals! Currently exploring more partnerships that aren’t yet official - looking forward to announcing them soon! 🌱 Creative Projects: Our web novel, Plots of Panoros, has surpassed 60,000 words, and we’ve started developing Plasma Plaines, a sci-fantasy farm sim game which takes place in the same setting within the Playsum-verse! This week, we rolled out two new features on the game store to make browsing even easier! 😄 First, we added a toggle between the Standard and Deluxe editions - so if you’re browsing the Standard and decide you want the Deluxe version, or vice versa, you can switch right there, no extra searching. The second feature shows all the DLC on the product page! Just click through with the arrow to see everything at a glance ➡️ It’s a quick way to find the content you’re looking for. One of our amazing Playsum Partners, GnomeFinder, hosted a panel at TwitchCon last month titled "The Power of Networking: A Femme Forum." 🎮 The panel focused on empowering women and femme gamers in the industry and highlighted valuable resources for building strong networks. We’re honored that Playsum was included as a resource in the discussion! It’s inspiring to see the dedication of content creators like GnomeFinder, who are championing inclusivity and creating opportunities in gaming. Especially for women, trans, and non-binary folks who are more likely to face difficulties in the gaming space.
